Senior Payroll Analyst
Penske Media Corporation is continuing to expand its payroll team with the addition of a new Senior Payroll Analyst position based in our West Los Angeles Headquarters. This position will report to the Payroll Manager and work closely with the corporate HR & Finance team. This role will be responsible for the payroll processing for multiple companies/brands within the larger PMC umbrella as well as the day-to-day management of several of the Company’s benefit plans.

Responsibilities- Responsible for processing accurate and timely payroll for both union and non-union employees while ensuring compliance with federal, state, local, prevailing wage, and collective bargaining agreement (CBA) requirements
- Input transactions into UKG payroll software
- Manage employee's union initiation fees and regular union dues deductions and their timely remittance to the union
- Customer service by analyzing, retrieving, resolving, and researching matters
- Work on cyclical processing and end-of-the period activities
- Organize suitable level of functional, and technical processes, as well as training programs
- Lead and supervise a payroll analyst and ensure tasks are done properly and timely
- Collaborate with Payroll team to process Semi-monthly payroll using UKG
- Strong understanding of payroll processing (union payroll and administration experience a plus)
- Stay informed of regulations and practices pertaining to the payroll function
- Must have the ability to identify, analyze and resolve process and system related problems, develop root cause analysis, and implement corrective actions
- Configuration of all core data elements comprising the current timekeeping system, including downloading data at the end of each pay period to perform payroll processing
- Compile complex Ad Hoc reports for executive team, managers and other requesting departments as needed
- Responsibility of quarterly tax filings and year-end W-2’s from current payroll system including making adjustments to earnings and taxes as necessary
- Responsible for maintaining tax withholding, overtime, 401(k) deferrals, loans, LOA’s, garnishments and workers compensation for various states
- Assist with internal/external audits and compliance reporting such as 401K and Workers Compensation
- Calculate and process timely salary increases per union agreement
- Calculate and process retroactive pay per union agreement
- Set up and maintain different deduction codes, payroll groups and policies for member employees
- Collaborate with legal and people teams in the timely and accurate implementation of union related pay and benefit policies
- Support union audits
- Minimum of 5 years of payroll experience, with 1-3 years of supervising experience
- At least 2 years of payroll processing experience in union environment
- Excellent knowledge of web-based payroll and timekeeping systems, preferably UKG
- Strong knowledge of multi-state wage and hour and tax reporting laws
- Knowledge of prevailing wage requirements, payments and documentation
- Strong knowledge of Microsoft Excel.
