IDC IT Technician

Sterling, VA & Santa Clara, CA Full time

• Responsible for ensuring availability and reliability of multiple data centers to meet the requirements of enterprise operation.
• Install, configure, and upgrade routers, switches, servers as well as map out, run, and connect all LAN and SAN fiber optic network cabling.
• Perform ongoing calibration, monitoring, and troubleshooting of enterprise servers running on Red-Hat Linux to ensure proper performance levels are sustained.
• Analyze and monitor system health, respond appropriately to network alerts and events, and use the standard ticket-handling procedures to escalation tickets upstream when appropriate.
• Assist in data center migration between different sites by racking, labeling both physically and logically on the asset management application, using an ITL-based configuration and change management process.
• Support data center capacity planning and construction by conducting power/cooling audits on data halls to validate available capacity for rack infills.
• Record and maintain accurate incident and change records to safeguard quality of operations, escort vendors, and ensure client policies are followed.

• Experienced in server installation and network configuration.
• Familiar with TCP/IP, switching, routing, and optical communication technology.
• 1+ year work experience in maintenance & operation at an IDC or Network Center.
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities.
• Must have at least a bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Telecommunications, or a related field.
• Speaking Chinese Mandarin is a plus.
