Bunge seeks a senior Exchange Engineer to act as the global technical authority for Exchange Online and hybrid Exchange. This role owns the architecture, governance, security, automation, lifecycle management, and service reliability for messaging and modern workplace platforms (including adjacent M365 services like Teams, SharePoint, Copilot, Viva, and Power Platform governance). Responsibilities include defining technical strategy, driving cross‑functional execution, leading incident reduction, ensuring operational excellence, and platform modernization.

The role balances hands‑on engineering with architectural leadership and global stakeholder influence.

Scope & Impact:

  • Global footprint:
Supports tens of thousands of users and identities in a 24x7, multi‑geo, highly regulated enterprise environment.
  • Platform ownership:
Exchange Online, hybrid Exchange, transport/routing, mail hygiene, and integrated M365 services.
  • Service reliability:
Accountable for SLOs/SLAs, availability, performance, and proactive risk reduction.
  • Governance & security:
Sets technical standards, policy baselines, and control frameworks globally.
  • Modernization & cost:
Leads roadmap execution, technical debt remediation, and TCO optimization.

Skills Required:

  • Expert‑level fluency with Power Shell, Exchange Online/EXO V2 modules, Graph API, and automation.
  • Strong understanding of Defender for Office 365, EOP, SPF/DKIM/DMARC, TLS and mail hygiene controls.
  • Hands‑on experience defining M365 governance/security controls (retention, DLP, eDiscovery, sensitivity labels, Conditional Access, PIM).
  • Excellent communication skills for architecture documents, standards, executive updates, and multicultural teams.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Own reference architecture and roadmap for Exchange Online and hybrid Exchange (connectivity, SMTP relay, transport rules, modern auth, namespace, Autodiscover, MRS, HCW, mail flow, EOP/Defender integration).
  • Define M365 tenant baselines, multi‑geo strategy, mailbox placement, mail flow, retention, discovery, and compliance.
  • Evaluate and steward modernization initiatives (public folders retirement, EWS deprecation, basic‑to‑modern auth, TLS/cipher hardening, Exchange CU/Schema planning).
  • Architect global message routing resiliency, hybrid coexistence, and business continuity (DR runbooks, failover).
  • Set and enforce global technical standards, guardrails, and configuration policy‑as‑code for Exchange Online, Teams, and related M365 services.
  • Partner with Security, Risk, Legal on DLP, eDiscovery, Litigation Hold, Retention, Information Protection, Safe Links/Attachments, and Tenant Allow/Block Lists.
  • Establish and monitor access models, PIM, Conditional Access, and secure mail transport (SPF/DKIM/DMARC, MX/connector strategy).
  • Lead lifecycle and vulnerability management for Exchange servers, hybrid agents, connectors, and third‑party integrations.
  • Define and measure SLOs/SLAs, error budgets, and KPIs; implement observability (mail flow, queue health, throttling, latency, client experience).
  • Drive problem management and major incident command for messaging/M365; lead post‑incident reviews with corrective actions and automation‑first fixes.
  • Ensure capacity planning, patching, CU/ringed deployments, change management rigor, and rollback strategies.
  • Serve as technical leader/escalation point for regional teams and managed service partners; coach engineers.
  • Partner with Product, Security, Network, Identity, and Collaboration teams for cohesive services.
  • Communicate complex technical decisions to executive/business stakeholders; create decision records and architecture standards.
  • Represent Bunge with vendors, influence product roadmaps, and manage licensing/feature utilization.
  • Focus on adoption & experience (end‑user satisfaction, executive communications quality, measurable productivity outcomes like Copilot readiness).
  • Hybrid work with global collaboration across time zones; occasional travel; participation in on‑call…
