Nuclear Munitions Command and Control (NMC2) SME
Clearance: Must obtain and maintain an active SECRET clearance (CNWDI eligible)
Location: Barksdale, AFB
Position Summary
Provide senior technical expertise supporting the sustainment, optimization, and operational use of Nuclear Command, Control, and Communications (NMC2) applications and data environments. This role ensures users across the nuclear enterprise can effectively access, interpret, and manage mission‑critical data while maintaining system integrity, availability, and compliance. The specialist serves as a key advisor on application interdependencies, data schemas, and permission structures supporting nuclear maintenance and operations.
PrimaryResponsibilities
- Support sustainment, development, migration, and optimization of NMC2 applications and associated data storage
- Provide expert guidance on application permission groups and access relationships across the NMC2 environment
- Assist users in locating, interpreting, and applying data appropriate to their role and level of responsibility
- Explain relationships between primary, feeder, and lookup data sources across NMC2 applications
- Support stakeholders in understanding application interactions, data dependencies, and operational impacts
- Serve as a subject matter expert on all applications deployed within NMC2
- 10+ years of demonstrated experience supporting NMC2 application sustainment, development, migration, and/or optimization
- In‑depth knowledge of the NMC2 data schema and application architecture
- Strong understanding of stakeholder roles and responsibilities associated with NMC2 data and applications
- Comprehensive knowledge of NMC2 application permission structures and access control relationships
- Ability to translate complex technical data relationships into actionable guidance for operational users
