RolePrincipal Consultant The Principal Consultant leads Professional Services consulting teams during customer projects and oversees day-to-day operations until completion. They serve as a primary client contact for services projects and may lead multiple projects concurrently. A Principal Consultant supervises and leads project teams, manages complex projects, and demonstrates senior expertise in enterprise IT leadership or one or more WWT technology practices.
They lead customer-facing services projects of medium to large size or complexity and develop project deliverables such as white papers, plans, strategies, designs, assessments, and business cases. The Principal Consultant must be capable of operating as a key player in a multi-project environment and drive project outcomes.
Solutions / Technical Leadership
- Understand client scopes and objectives; serve as the external solution/technical voice and as the internal escalation point for WWT employees, partners, and contractors.
- Partner with the PMO to identify and resolve Risks and Issues.
- Accountable for resolving technical Risks and Issues using their background and available WWT resources.
- Ensure staff, contractors, and partners follow WWT best practices and templates and deliver to the customer.
- Review deployment documents, technical assessments, and outputs to ensure a consistent “One Voice.”
- Manage projects as if they were standalone businesses, delivering services that meet WWT’s profitability and quality expectations.
Primary
- Main customer contact from project start to finish, ensuring the team meets the customer’s needs.
- Ability to conduct consulting activities and methodologies leading to discovery, analysis, and technical/business recommendations.
- Advanced communication skills, including business/technical writing and presentations; ability to present in-depth technical solutions.
- Self-motivated with the ability to energize a project team; drive to exceed goals.
- Ability to work with stakeholders at all levels, from C-level to end users; thoughtful leadership and innovative thinking.
- Positive customer service attitude and drive for profitable growth within accounts.
- Develop relationships across the customer organization to source new business.
- Deliver project work with ongoing quality, following standards and delivery methodologies; ensure resources meet current and future demands.
- Participate with Sales during scoping workshops and in the development of Scopes of Work.
- Provide the bridge between Sales and Professional Services for new opportunities.
