Job Overview

The Enterprise Data Warehouse Developer works under minimal supervision and is responsible for performing technical work associated with analyzing requirements, evaluating database design, and creating database deliverables to support business intelligence and reporting products.

General Responsibilities
  • Represent IT in a respectful and professional manner.
  • Complete tasks per defined project scope, timelines, and budgets.
  • Collaborate with internal IT teams on technical troubleshooting, integration, reporting, and training.
  • Communicate effectively with the technical team at all levels and with non‑technical users.
  • Alert leadership of outages, problems, or delays.
  • Maintain knowledge of healthcare technology and industry trends.
  • Mentor and assist other team members, especially Business Intelligence Developers.
  • Guide the team in analysis, design, and development and develop best‑practice standards.
Data Product Development
  • Collect data regarding the current IT environment and document workflows and system access.
  • Develop data products (tables, Data Marts, stored procedures, imports/extracts) to support reports and dashboards.
  • Collaborate with users and departments to produce meaningful and informative reports.
  • Provide knowledge on dashboard and reporting tool usage.
  • Define information requirements for design, build, and upgrade implementation.
  • Recommend reporting products based on system capabilities versus customer needs.
  • Evaluate refined data and programs and select the appropriate action.
Data Warehouse Owner
  • Consolidate and optimize data warehouse infrastructure.
  • Conceptualize analytics and BI platform architecture.
  • Design and implement ETL procedures for data intake and quality checks.
  • Ensure proper functioning of analytics, dashboards, and reporting environments.
  • Collaborate with business and technology stakeholders on architecture development and utilization.
  • Monitor, tune, and analyze database performance.
  • Design and extend data marts, metadata, and data models.
  • Maintain architecture code in version control.
Project Management
  • Assist in developing work plans and task sequencing.
  • Utilize change management processes.
  • Complete required documentation.
  • Coordinate activities with other departments.
  • Serve as backup to related positions as needed.
  • Participate in on‑call rotation.
  • Provide desk support as required.
Experience & Qualifications
  • Minimum 9 years of IT experience with a High School Diploma.
  • Minimum 7 years of IT experience with an Associate’s Degree.
  • Minimum 5 years of IT experience with a Bachelor’s Degree (preferred).
  • High School Diploma/GED or equivalent required;
    Bachelor’s Degree preferred.
  • Preferred certifications:
    Epic Clarity.
  • Knowledge of SQL, SSRS, SSIS, Tableau, Crystal Reports, and Epic systems.
  • Strong understanding of data architecture, warehousing, and ETL.
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills.
Licenses and Certifications
  • Epic Clarity Certification (Required).
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Ability to conceptualize and analyze complex requests.
  • Work independently and manage time effectively.
  • Create dashboards and reports for clinical and business users.
  • Maintain reports, programs, and systems.
  • Understand functionality and relationships between supported applications.
  • Deliver superior teamwork and customer service.
  • Expertise in data architecture, loading, transformation, warehousing, automation, and security.
  • Knowledge of healthcare and clinical systems (preferred).
