Position:
Analyst II – Telecom. Supports CDPH’s mission by delivering reliable and efficient telecom services statewide, with a primary focus on wireless device management for over 3,800 staff.
Responsibilities include managing wireless devices—activations, upgrades, suspensions, replacements, troubleshooting, and usage tracking—ensuring accurate inventory and uninterrupted program operations. Additional duties cover wired telecom needs during office moves, coordinating Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP) installations, call routing setups, and service repairs; working with vendors and program staff on service requests; maintaining telecom databases and SharePoint resources; processing specialized service orders; and resolving issues to keep statewide communications running smoothly.
Reports to the Supervisor I of the Telecom Unit.
Minimum Requirements- Experience managing wireless devices (activations, upgrades, suspensions, replacements, troubleshooting, usage tracking).
- Experience supporting wired telecom needs, including VoIP installation and service repair.
- Knowledge of telecom database maintenance and SharePoint.
- Ability to work independently and resolve complex issues.
- Experience working with vendors and program staff.
- Experience supporting wireless services—including activations, upgrades, suspensions, replacements, and troubleshooting.
- Ability to coordinate wireless service requests, manage inventory, and track usage accurately.
- Skill in resolving wireless billing discrepancies and reviewing invoices for accuracy.
- Strong communication skills when working with staff, vendors, and service providers.
- Experience maintaining telecom documentation using SQL, Access, or SharePoint.
- Ability to manage multiple requests, prioritize effectively, and work independently.
- Strong attention to detail, judgment, dependability, and customer‑service orientation.
