- Lead the design of user interfaces and workflows for web applications, ensuring usability and Section 508 accessibility compliance.
- Conduct user research, interviews, and usability testing to inform and validate design decisions.
- Translate requirements into wireframes, prototypes, and high-fidelity visual designs using modern design tools (Figma, Adobe XD, Sketch, etc.).
- Collaborate with cross-functional Agile teams (developers, product owners, stakeholders) to deliver user-centered solutions.
- Develop and maintain design systems, style guides, and documentation.
- Apply human-centered design (HCD) and best practices to create engaging, efficient, and accessible user experiences.
- Present design concepts and findings to technical and non-technical audiences.
- Participate in Agile ceremonies and contribute to backlog refinement.
- Mentor junior designers and provide feedback to elevate team design quality.
- Stay current with UX trends, tools, and accessibility standards.
- Bachelor's degree in Human-Computer Interaction, Graphic Design, Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
- 3–5 years of professional experience in UX/UI design for web applications.
- Proficiency with design tools (Figma, Adobe XD, Sketch, or similar).
- Demonstrated experience with user research, usability testing, and iterative design.
- Strong understanding of user-centered design principles and usability best practices.
- Working knowledge of Section 508 accessibility standards and inclusive design.
- Experience collaborating in Agile or cross-functional teams.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Eligibility for federal background investigation and compliance with security requirements (U.S. citizenship or lawful permanent residency with 3 years residency).
- Experience designing for enterprise or regulated environments.
- Familiarity with HTML/CSS and front-end development concepts.
- Experience with Dev Sec Ops or Agile software development environments.
- Certifications in UX, HCD, or accessibility.
- Experience mentoring or guiding junior designers.
A reasonable estimate of the current range for this role in the U.S. is $63,700.00 - $.
