Job Title: Operations & Program Support Analyst (Analyst II)
Classification: Analyst II
Salary: $6,031.00 – $7,547.00 per Month (New to State candidates hired into minimum salary).
Job Type: Permanent, Full Time
Location: Office-based (minimum 4 days per week).
Responsibilities- Provide analytical and technical support of increasing complexity to the Audit Division under the direction of an Administrator I in Data Analytics and Innovation Section.
- Assist the division with long-range planning, strategies and evaluation measures.
- Act as a liaison between Audit and other business areas to support models, mainframe applications, web pages, business tools and operational processes.
- Assist Data Scientists with data models and reports for assigned business area within the Audit Division.
- Research, evaluate and document available data sources and use reporting and analytic tools to support and enhance data analytics.
- Serve as a resource to areas throughout the department including the Technology Service Division.
- Meet the minimum qualifications listed in the class specification for Analyst II level.
- Working knowledge of Franchise Tax Board's Audit organization, operations, Personal Income Tax (PIT) and Business Entity (BE) tax laws, or similar experience.
- Ability to interpret and apply tax laws to operational models.
- Knowledge of FTB systems such as Taxpayer Information (TI), Business Entities Tax System (BETS), Taxpayer Folder (TPF), Case Management (CM), Tableau, or other similar systems.
- Knowledge of FTB enterprise modeling tools, data sources, and data structures, or similar knowledge.
- Knowledge of FTB Enterprise Intake process, Azure Dev Ops Server (ADOS), or other similar systems.
- Experience with application development and Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) process.
- Experience with data exchange, modeling, and reports.
- Ability to write and review business requirements for Audit systems of work.
- Ability to conduct root cause analysis and communicate findings.
- Ability to analyze and evaluate situations, draw sound conclusions, and determine and implement an appropriate course of action.
- Ability to partner effectively with internal and external stakeholders, providing relevant and valuable input.
- Ability to work independently and in a team environment to achieve intended results.
- Ability to serve as a resource for audit program management on special projects requiring independent action, departmental perspective, and effective decision-making.
- Ability to communicate effectively, orally and in writing, in a clear and concise manner.
- Ability to independently plan, prioritize, and organize assignments within tight time frames or competing deadlines.
- Ability to creatively develop alternatives and recommend innovative solutions using strong analytical and research skills.
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively both independently and in a team environment on various projects and special assignments.
- Strong organizational skills, including the ability to multitask and adapt to changing priorities.
- Ability to effectively present ideas and information, both verbally and in writing.
- Ability to maintain a positive attitude and good work ethic.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, SharePoint, PowerPoint, Visio) and Adobe Acrobat Professional.
