Smart Hands​/Network Field Engineer

Overview

We are seeking an experienced Smart Hands / Network Deployment Engineer to support onsite installation and deployment activities for Cisco Wireless LAN Controllers. The engineer will work closely with remote engineering teams to ensure successful implementation, connectivity validation, and equipment deployment.

• Stage and prepare equipment prior to implementation and cutover activities.
• Install and rack Cisco 9800 Wireless LAN Controllers.
• Perform power connections, network cross-connects, and physical cabling activities.
• Verify switch port availability and validate physical network connectivity.
• Install and connect SFP modules, fiber patch cords, and Ethernet cabling.
• Provide Smart Hands support to remote engineering teams during deployment and cutover activities.
• Validate physical installation and perform basic connectivity checks.
• Decommission and remove legacy equipment where applicable.
• Label, pack, and prepare decommissioned equipment for return shipment.
• Provide site completion updates, documentation, and photographs as required.

• Experience with network cabling, fiber connectivity, and structured cabling standards.
• Experience installing and supporting Cisco Wireless LAN Controllers (Cisco 9800 series preferred).
• Proven Smart Hands / Remote Hands support experience.
• Basic network troubleshooting and connectivity verification skills.
• Ability to work independently onsite while coordinating with remote teams.

• Standard installation toolkit.
• Laptop with PuTTY and TFTP Server software installed.
• Console cable (USB-A to USB-B).
• Ethernet/LAN cables and crossover cable.
• Reliable internet connectivity (Hotspot, Broadband, or Wi-Fi Dongle).
• Successful installation and deployment of Cisco 9800 WLCs.
• Physical connectivity validation completed successfully.
• Legacy equipment decommissioned and prepared for shipment (where applicable).
• Site completion report and status updates submitted to the remote engineering team.
