Principal DevSecOps Engineer

Technology Partners is currently seeking a talented Principal Dev Sec Ops  Engineer.

Do you have experience establishing infrastructure-as-code, orchestrating CI/CD pipelines, and managing security in AWS Gov Cloud environments?

You will be a key member of the platform engineering team, responsible for building and operating a secure, scalable, and maintainable data platform in AWS Gov Cloud. In this role, you will work closely with the Senior Data Architect and Senior Data Engineer to provision and automate infrastructure components, develop monitoring and auto‑cancellation tools, and implement RBAC enforcement layers. You will focus on delivering readable, documented, IaC‑managed components that the client’s internal team can operate independently after project completion.

Your efforts will include setting up the development database, establishing source health checks, and designing operational runbooks. This role is a contract with an initial term of 6 months.

• Provision the synthetic‑data development database within the existing Redshift cluster using Terraform or Cloud Formation.
• Develop infrastructure‑as‑code for all layers, including sources, ETL tools, and consumption components.
• Build and integrate the Matillion Git workflow, enabling dev‑to‑production promotion via pull requests and code reviews.
• Design and implement the auto‑cancellation watchdog, including configuring Matillion timeout settings, creating Cloud Watch‑based monitoring, and handling hung JDBC connections.
• Create and enforce RBAC policies in Redshift based on catalog tags, including automating role provisioning.
• Build a comprehensive monitoring stack by capturing Matillion Task History, integrating with Redshift logging, and surfacing metrics in dashboards and reports.
• Develop an operational runbook documenting common failure modes for client handoff, co‑authored with the Business Analyst.
• Validate and remediate account and network configurations to ensure secure, compliant AWS account structure.
• Partner with stakeholders to align platform architecture with security, compliance, and operational requirements.

• 10+ years of experience in Dev Ops, Dev Sec Ops , or platform engineering roles, with at least 5 years hands‑on experience in AWS.
• Deep expertise in AWS services including Redshift, S3, IAM, KMS, Secrets Manager, Cloud Watch, Lambda, Step Functions, and networking within VPCs.
• Proven experience with infrastructure‑as‑code using Terraform or Cloud Formation and CI/CD pipelines tailored for data platforms.
• Extensive hands‑on Matillion administration knowledge, including use of API features such as Cancel Task API and Task History API.
• Strong understanding of security and compliance frameworks such as NIST SP 800‑171, CMMC Level 2, FedRAMP, HIPAA HITRUST, PCI‑DSS.
• Experience managing secrets and credential rotation workflows with Secrets Manager or Parameter Store.
• Ability to develop audit logging and monitoring solutions that satisfy compliance and security audits.
• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
• High School Diploma or equivalent and a valid Driver’s License.

• Prior experience supporting aerospace, defense, or ITAR‑regulated clients.
• Active AWS certifications such as Solutions Architect Professional, Dev Ops Engineer Professional, or Security Specialty.
• Prior AWS Gov Cloud project delivery experience and a current Public Trust or higher clearance.
• Certification in Matillion or familiarity with downstream BI tools like Qlik Sense.
• Consulting experience with top‑tier firms or in large enterprise environments.

$84.00 – $120.00 /hr
