Data Integration Engineer

Position Summary

The Data Integration Engineer will install automated back-end data integrations to ingest customer healthcare data into Caris environments, create/manage/optimize ETL from internal systems to support analytic dashboards, and lead data discovery/validation to ensure accurate delivery for business users.

• Lead technical requirements gathering and define integration approaches; communicate clearly with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Assemble large clinical outcome datasets for ingestion into Caris systems.
• Contribute to architecture design and development of clinical informatics and BI infrastructure.
• Establish access to electronic medical records via database access, FHIR, HL7, APIs, or other methods.
• Gather business requirements in an agile manner and build dashboard outputs based on ETL-sourced data.
• Adhere to documented departmental and corporate standards.
• Assist with related duties and special projects as required.

• Bachelor’s degree in a related field.
• 3+ years ETL programming.
• 3+ years working with relational databases.
• HL7 experience.
• Certified in Epic Beaker and/or Epic Bridges.
• Ability to work independently solving application software problems.
• Experience with external access and ETL strategies across multiple data sources/EMR systems.
• Ability to assemble/query complex data; perform in-depth analysis.
• Relational DB experience (e.g., Microsoft SQL, MySQL).
• Proficient Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) and basic business Internet use.

• Advanced IT/security and system life-cycle knowledge.
• 3+ years ETL in analytic/dashboard environments (healthcare preferred).
• JavaScript scripting skills.
• Experience deploying ETL solutions (e.g., Mirth Connect, CloverETL).
• Strong leadership, communication, teamwork, and customer-service focus.
