Cambridge International Systems, Inc. is a leading defense and security technology provider. We are seeking a Senior Database Administrator III to support operations in Riverside, CA, with occasional travel to Aguadilla, Puerto Rico.
Position details:
Full‑time, contract position with an expected start date of September 1, 2026. Salary range $111,000‑$160,000 per year, commensurate with experience. Requires an active DoD Secret clearance and U.S. citizenship.
- Administer, maintain, and optimize database systems supporting AMOSS, ISR, and C4I environments.
- Monitor database performance and implement tuning and optimization strategies.
- Ensure data integrity, availability, and security across all database platforms.
- Perform database installation, configuration, patching, and upgrades.
- Support backup, recovery, and disaster recovery planning and execution.
- Troubleshoot and resolve database‑related issues in mission‑critical environments.
- Manage database access controls and ensure compliance with security requirements.
- Support integration of databases with applications, systems, and data sources.
- Collaborate with engineering and development teams to support system enhancements and data requirements.
- Develop and maintain database documentation, procedures, and standards.
- Support data migration, replication, and synchronization efforts.
- Ensure compliance with configuration management and change control processes.
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field (or equivalent experience).
- At least 10 years of relevant work experience, including maintenance and sustainment of C4I, AMOSS, or ISR systems in operational environments.
- Strong troubleshooting skills across hardware, software, and network components.
- Experience administering enterprise‑level database systems in operational environments.
- Experience with database performance tuning, optimization, and troubleshooting.
- Experience managing backup, recovery, and disaster recovery processes.
- Experience supporting database security, access controls, and compliance requirements.
- Active DoD Secret clearance.
- Proficiency with modern IT tools and infrastructure technologies, including Microsoft Office, project management tools (MS Project), and collaboration tools (Teams, SharePoint).
- Valid passport for occasional OCONUS travel; ability to travel by motor vehicle and/or air.
