Responsibilities
- Provide IT systems administration in a heterogeneous Microsoft Windows and Red Hat Enterprise Linux environment.
- Work with Windows Server internals or Linux fundamentals, including DNS, DHCP, AD, and server replication methods.
- Use troubleshooting techniques to resolve technical problems of moderate to high scope and complexity, including hardware and operating systems integration.
- Understand RAID, backup technologies, and data protection.
- Install and configure software applications requested by end users.
- Collaborate with cybersecurity professionals to maintain security requirements.
- Obtain DoDD 8140 / 8570 certification (CompTIA Security+ CE or equivalent) within six months of start date.
- Maintain 24/7 systems and respond to occasional off‑hours work.
- Travel up to 10% per year to other U.S. domestic locations as business needs dictate.
- Deploy Windows workstations and migrate end‑user data.
- Administer Microsoft Windows Active Directory Services, including user, computer, and Group Policy objects.
- Manage network services in a Windows environment (DC, DNS, DHCP).
- Work with UNIX and Linux systems.
- Use VMware vSphere (ESXi, vCenter).
- Apply automation tools such as Chef, Ansible, Puppet, CFEngine.
- Implement cross‑domain solutions, system deployment, performance tuning, and monitoring.
- Create Infrastructure as Code (IaC) and automate scripts.
- Manage Net App storage (FAS
8000).
Required:
- University degree or equivalent experience with a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience, or advanced degree with at least 3 years of experience.
- U.S. citizenship and an active Secret security clearance required prior to start date.
- Experience with Windows and/or Linux systems administration.
Preferred:
- Active Top Secret security clearance.
- Bitlocker support.
- Windows command‑line utilities.
- Infrastructure services: domain controllers, global catalogs, DNS, DHCP, backup, restore, disaster recovery, business continuity.
- Cloud computing (AWS, Azure).
- MDT/WSUS/MECM;
Windows 10 & 11 desktops;
Horizon. - Support for engineering applications such as MATLAB, Green Hills products, Doors, and Subversion.
- CompTIA Security+ or equivalent certifications.
- ITIL Foundations or ITIL Service Operations.
Competitive base salary ranging from $95,500 to $181,700 USD, dependent on experience.
