Education & Experience
- Bachelor's degree (B.S.) or higher in Human-Computer Interaction (HCI), Human Factors, Psychology, or a related UX field.
- 5+ years of experience in UX Research with a strong understanding of user experience best practices, preferably in a corporate or B2B environment.
- Additional 2–3 years of relevant experience may be considered in lieu of the required degree.
We are seeking an experienced UI/UX Designer III (UX Researcher) to support the Machine Display and Machine Experience Teams. This role focuses on driving user-centered design decisions through research, usability testing, and collaboration with cross-functional teams. The ideal candidate will leverage expertise in Human-Computer Interaction (HCI), UX research methodologies, and design best practices to create intuitive, efficient, and safe user experiences for heavy equipment operators.
The UX Researcher will identify research opportunities, conduct qualitative and quantitative studies, translate findings into actionable design recommendations, and ensure a seamless handoff of UX deliverables to downstream design and engineering teams.
Key Responsibilities- Translate usability testing, field studies, simulations, and research findings into clear, prioritized UX recommendations.
- Identify operator, customer, and business needs, and convert them into evidence-based interaction concepts that enhance usability, safety, and efficiency.
- Plan, facilitate, and execute qualitative and quantitative UX research for physical and digital systems.
- Integrate research insights into product design and UX strategy throughout the product development lifecycle.
- Collaborate with designers, engineers, product strategists, and stakeholders to define prototype requirements and iterate on solutions.
- Document UX goals, design principles, behaviors, interaction patterns, and implementation guidelines for downstream teams.
- Create and maintain UX deliverables, including:
- User journeys
- Experience maps
- Task flows
- Storyboards
- Mental models
- User flows
- Develop UX strategy documentation covering UI principles, physical interactions, and overall user experience guidelines.
- Prioritize UX research initiatives and maintain the research backlog in alignment with the product roadmap.
- Prepare research reports and effectively communicate findings through compelling data storytelling.
- Conduct and analyze user research and usability testing.
- Convert research insights into actionable UI/UX improvements.
- Partner with design teams to validate prototypes and iterate designs.
- Work closely with cross-functional stakeholders to align UX decisions with business objectives.
- Produce high-quality UX documentation and research artifacts.
- Support product teams in defining long-term UX strategy and roadmap priorities.
- Strong understanding of UI/UX design principles, Human-Computer Interaction (HCI), and usability best practices.
- Experience conducting mixed-method UX/HMI research, including qualitative and quantitative methodologies.
- Proficiency with UX design, wire framing, prototyping, and specification tools (such as Figma, Adobe XD, Axure, or similar).
- Experience integrating research findings into product design and development processes.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong portfolio demonstrating UX research, design process, problem-solving approach, and project outcomes.
