Job Summary:

Provide technical leadership and management direction for database administration teams in a matrix-managed environment. Lead advanced database design, analysis, administration and performance optimization to support complex processing needs and future business requirements.## What You'll Be Doing:
* Provide technical leadership and management direction to database administration team members
* Manage resource allocations within a matrix-managed environment
* Lead, plan and oversee state-of-the-art database designs to solve complex database processing problems
* Perform complex database analysis and database design tasks using advanced techniques on the forefront of technology
* Ensure databases meet required operational standards and performance levels, including reliability, response time and query execution time
* Prepare cost analyses and justification for difficult database systems
* Serve as a senior consultant to staff by providing strategic technical advice and consultation on database analysis and design reviews
* Participate in the administration, monitoring, tuning and support of databases in the production environment##

What We Are Looking For :
* Bachelor's Degree Computer Science, a related field, or equivalent experience
* Twelve (12) years of information technology experience
* Eight (8) years experience in the database administration area
* Experience applying database design approaches that consider existing and future needs, capacity, limitations, operating time and desired results
* Experience evaluating database implementation approaches, backup strategies and recovery strategies
* Knowledge of database administration activities including denormalization, data archival schemes, sizing, data definition language and database objects
* Knowledge of referential integrity, security enforcement and application optimization
* Other Equivalent combination of education, training, and experience may be accepted in lieu of degree## The Knowledge,

* Strong strategic consultation skills with the ability to advise and guide staff on complex database analysis and design reviews
* Advanced problem-solving skills for complex database processing challenges
* Ability to evaluate technical options and recommend database design, implementation, backup and recovery strategies
* Strong focus on operational reliability, performance optimization and production support##
