Service Now Administrator / Solutions Engineer
Seeking an experienced Service Now Administrator / Solutions Engineer to lead the administration, governance, optimization, and continuous improvement of the Service Now platform. This role is responsible for maintaining platform stability, providing technical oversight, and partnering with business and technology stakeholders to design and deliver scalable solutions that align with organizational objectives and Service Now best practices. The ideal candidate possesses hands-on expertise across the Service Now ecosystem including Platform Administration, CMDB, ITSM, ITOM, Request Management, Service Mapping, Discovery, and Automation.
Success in this role requires a strong combination of technical proficiency, platform administration experience, problem-solving capabilities, and excellent communication skills. The candidate must be able to effectively manage competing priorities, work independently and with coworkers globally, while driving the adoption of Service Now standards, governance, and best practices.
- Manage and maintain the Service Now platform, including CMDB, configuration, customization, integrations and platform related administration tasks.
- Be able to translate Technology, Operations, and Support process requirements into functional specifications for configuration with a focus on automation where possible.
- Day-to-day administration of the organization's Service Now platform
- Create reports and dashboards using Platform and Performance Analytics.
- Create and maintain technical documentation, including system architecture diagrams, process workflows, and configuration details.
- Manage integrated functionality and technology dependencies, usability, reliability, performance, and support requirements
- Support the technical design and solutioning of integrations and platform enhancements while working with stakeholders, technical support teams and Service Now teams for requirements gathering and successful implementation and deployment.
- Provide mentorship, guidance, and support to other technical team members.
- Stay abreast of emerging Service Now features, capabilities, and best practices, and recommend innovative solutions to drive continuous improvement.
- Monitor health, usage, and overall compliance of tools used and its applications to ensure audit and user requirements are met accurately and timely
- Assist in development and execution of Unit Testing, System Integration Testing, and User Acceptance Testing scripts on enhancements, and platform upgrades.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience as a Service Now Administrator, with a proven track record of successful platform support and/or implementations.
- Service Now Certified System Administrator (CSA) certification is required. Additional certifications such as Certified Implementation Specialist (CIS) or Certified Application Developer (CAD) are a plus.
- Extensive knowledge of Service Now platform capabilities, modules, and functionalities, including, CMDB, Incident Management, Change Management, Service Catalog, IT Operations Management features and Reporting.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a global team in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
- Ability to lead projects or work streams.
- Strong understanding of IT Service Management (ITSM) processes, frameworks, and best practices (ITIL).
- Strong communication, collaboration, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact effectively with stakeholders at all levels of the organization.
- Experience with HRSD a plus but not required.
