IT Business Analyst

Location: Maryland Heights

RESPONSIBILITIES:
Kforce is immediately seeking an experienced IT Business Analyst in support of our enterprise telecommunications and mass media client based in Maryland Heights, MO.

Responsibilities:

* Business Research and Discovery:
Partnering with business stakeholders and end users to understand current workflows, pain points, and objectives, and identifying opportunities to improve processes, efficiency, and productivity

* Requirements Gathering and Elicitation:
Facilitating workshops, interviews, and working sessions to elicit, document, and prioritize business and functional requirements;
Translating high-level business goals into detailed, unambiguous requirements that development and QA teams can act on

* System and Process Analysis:
Should have the capability to perform system and process analysis, assessing how existing applications and workflows operate and evaluating the impact of proposed changes;
Documenting current-state and future-state process flows and data flows

* User Story Creation and Backlog Management:
Writing clear user stories with well-defined acceptance criteria, and maintaining a groomed, prioritized backlog;
Ensuring stories are appropriately sized, dependencies are identified, and each story ties back to a business objective

* Requirements Traceability and Documentation:
Maintaining traceability from business need to requirement to user story to test case;
Producing and maintaining supporting artifacts such as functional specifications, process diagrams, data mappings, and reference documentation

* Development Support:
Serving as the go-to resource for the development team throughout the build, clarifying requirements, answering questions, and making scope and priority decisions in partnership with the product owner;
Reviewing implementation against intended behavior

REQUIREMENTS:

* Bachelor's degree in Business, Information Systems, Computer Science, or a related field of study

* 7-10 years of experience as a Business Analyst in a related field, preferably supporting enterprise applications and Agile delivery teams

* Demonstrated experience gathering requirements, performing system analysis, and writing user stories that drive development and QA

* Experience using AI tools such as Claude to support analysis, research, and data analysis

* Exceptional verbal, written, and presentation skills

* Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team

* Ability to work on tight deadlines and manage competing priorities

Contract and Compensation Details

* Long-term contract position opportunity

* Initial contract for 3 months, extended based on performance review

* Industry-standard compensation based on the Greater St. Louis job market

The pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role. We may ultimately pay more or less than this range. Employee pay is based on factors like relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, union contract and business needs. This range may be modified in the future.

We offer comprehensive benefits including medical/dental/vision insurance, HSA, FSA, 401(k), and life, disability & ADD insurance to eligible employees. Salaried personnel receive paid time off. Hourly employees are not eligible for paid time off unless required by law. Hourly employees on a Service Contract Act project are eligible for paid sick leave.
