IT Systems Engineer II​/III

Requirements

• Level II: 2-4+ years of experience as a Systems Engineer in a medium to high volume environment
• Level III: 4-7+ years of experience as a Systems Engineer in a medium to high volume environment
• Experience managing and maintaining hypervisor technologies including Nutanix and VMware
• Experience managing and maintaining backup appliances, storage arrays, and server blade systems
• Experience deploying and automating virtual machines on-premises and in cloud infrastructure
• Understanding of current cloud and on-prem compute technologies, hypervisors, networking, storage, and backups
• Proficiency in supporting and maintaining compute environments according to best practices
• Strong problem-solving ability
• Ability to complete job requirements within time constraints
• Ability to train new employees to support systems
• Ability to work effectively individually or in a team environment with occasional direction
• BS degree in a computer-oriented technical discipline or equivalent experience
• Only US persons will be considered where access to Controlled Data or Information is required under ITAR
• Satisfactory background check required
• FAA-sensitive positions require participation in a random drug test pool

Demonstrates expertise in designing, developing, and maintaining compute infrastructure both on-premises and in the cloud, with a strong focus on virtualization technologies and compliance with industry regulations. Proficient in troubleshooting, disaster recovery, and providing escalated support for critical systems.

• Design, develop, support, and maintain compute infrastructure on-premises and in the cloud
• Implement and design hardware and software solutions
• Update system-related installation documentation
• Provide escalated support for compute infrastructure issues
• Patch and manage data center and cloud technologies including VMware, Nutanix, Azure, and Oracle OCI
• Monitor and remediate infrastructure issues to ensure uptime of critical business systems
• Deploy and manage virtual machines on-premises and in the cloud
• Troubleshoot systems and recommend improvements
• Preserve data assets and ensure backup procedures meet or exceed policies
• Implement and support disaster recovery for key systems
• Assist other teams with IT initiatives
• Identify issues, evaluate trends, and anticipate requirements
• Ensure compliance with Sarbanes-Oxley, DFARS, ITAR, and related regulations
• Support monitoring, alerting, and automation infrastructure

• Travel occasionally to customer and outside test lab facilities for technical interchange meetings, design reviews, product testing support, and technical seminars
• Travel domestically and internationally up to 10%
