Job SummaryThe Archdiocese of St Louis is seeking an experienced, operations focused IT Systems Administrator to join our Network Operations team and support our core technology infrastructure. This role provides operational administration for back-office systems, ensuring reliable performance, protection, and business continuity for our staff and ministries. The position functions as a core technical anchor for daily operations, while supporting the broader pastoral mission of the organization.
Job ResponsibilitiesSystems and Infrastructure Management
- Administer, maintain, and support hybrid Active Directory and Entra , including, Group Policy, and user management.
- Deploy, configure, and maintain Citrix Net Scaler (ADC) appliances, with a focus on load balancing, SSL config, and high availability (HA) pair setups.
- Monitor and manage network infrastructure, servers, and workstations to ensure uptime and optimal performance
- Perform regular system updates, patches, and security hardening across all IT systems
- Manage access controls, directory permissions, and core network services such as DNS and DHCP.
Backup & Disaster Recovery
- Design, implement, and maintain backup and disaster recovery solutions aligned with organizational needs
- Regularly test backup systems and recovery procedures to ensure data integrity
- Manage backup software platforms and storage systems
- Develop and maintain disaster recovery documentation and runbooks
- Lead recovery efforts during system failures or data loss incidents
- Back Office Operations Support
- Troubleshoot hardware and software issues affecting daily operations
- Document system configurations and maintain IT infrastructure records
Security & Compliance
- Implement security best practices to protect organizational data
- Monitor for security vulnerabilities and address threats promptly
- Ensure compliance with relevant data protection standards
- 3+ years of experience as an IT Systems Administrator, in a Windows Server environment.
- Advanced proficiency with Windows Server environments and Active Directory administration
- Direct hands-on experience with Citrix Net Scaler configuration and administration, including traffic management, SSL certs, and HA pairs.
- Hands-on experience with Veeam backup and disaster recovery software.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication and documentation abilities
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and respond to urgent issues
- Solid grasp of fundamental networking concepts like VLANs, subnets, and routing logic.
- Bachelor's degree in IT or related field, or equivalent hands-on experience.
- Strong knowledge of network infrastructure and security fundamentals
Preferred Qualifications
- Microsoft certifications (MCP, MCSA, MCSE, or equivalent)
- Basic familiarity with Linux systems at the command line for troubleshooting and simple service maintenance.
- Experience with virtualization platforms (VxRail, Hyper-V, VMware)
- Experience with cloud services (Microsoft 365, Azure, or similar)
- Experience with RMM (Remote Monitoring & Management) tools
- Working knowledge of Power Shell for basic administration and task automation.
- Experience supporting IT operations within a faith-based or non-profit organization.
Technical Expertise: Windows Server, Active Directory, Net Scaler, backup software, network administration, firewall and endpoint protection
Problem-Solving: Ability to diagnose complex issues and implement effective solutions
Communication: Clear explanation of technical concepts to non-technical staff
Organization: Attention to detail in documentation and procedures
