Group Legal & Compliance ensures that the bank's interests are protected by zealously guarding and enhancing its reputation and capital. We also work to maintain a good standing with all our regulators, customers, and business partners. • Provide strategic, advisory, transactional and commercial support on the legal and local regulatory requirements related to technology, sourcing, IP, data and CBG business in Singapore and Bank’s core markets in the region.
• Support the business functions/support units in developing and managing the legal and compliance risks related to technology outsourcing and sourcing arrangements (including intra-group arrangements).
• Negotiate large-scale technology and sourcing transactions, concentrating on international and domestic software application development and maintenance, software licensing, technology infrastructure, general information technology, and financial services business process outsourcings.
• Negotiate standard documentation in relation to the CBG business in Singapore and the Bank’s core markets in the region.
• Handle cross-border contractual negotiations and contribute to the drafting of commercial tenders and evaluation and assessment of supplier responses.
• Have a working understanding of relevant data governance laws and its impact on group sourcing transactions.
• Help identify, protect and manage the Bank’s intellectual property.
• Manage contentious matters related to technology, IP operations and consumer banking products and services, from a regional perspective.

• A qualified lawyer with a solid academic and training background.
• Minimum 8 years of PQE or more, in legal practice or in-house legal role of a financial institution or in-house legal role at an international technology company.
• A strong team player who thrives in a collaborative working environment.
• Strong communications and written language skills.
• Pleasant personality, great teamwork and a good sense of accountability.
• Demonstrates commercial-mindedness, initiative and adds value to their stakeholders and colleagues when advising on legal and regulatory risk management issues.
• Has the ability to quickly and succinctly communicate their legal advice on complex matters to enable stakeholders and colleagues to easily understand the core legal and regulatory risks and issues they need to manage.
• Ability to keep an open mind and adapt to portfolio changes, be agile and practical in this role.
• Able to effectively prioritize, manage and complete multiple transactions / tasks within deadlines.
• Possess excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Any other support as required by the Alpha Head from time to time.
