About the RoleWe’re looking for an experienced California litigation attorney to manage an active caseload through all phases of litigation and post‑judgment enforcement. This role is ideal for someone who is organized, responsive, and comfortable working in a fast‑paced, high‑volume environment while maintaining strong client service and high‑quality legal work.
Key Responsibilities- Manage a litigation caseload from initial pleadings through resolution, including post‑judgment enforcement.
- Draft and review pleadings, motions, discovery, and related correspondence.
- Handle motion practice and appear in court as needed.
- Evaluate matters and make suit/strategy decisions in collaboration with internal litigation and post‑judgment teams.
- Communicate professionally and effectively with clients, opposing counsel, self‑represented parties, and court staff.
- Implement and execute strategies to collect on judgments on behalf of firm clients (e.g., debtor exams, writs, levies, liens, wage garnishments, and other enforcement remedies as applicable).
- Conduct legal research and provide practical, well‑reasoned recommendations.
- Maintain thorough documentation and case notes consistent with firm and client policies and procedures.
- Provide guidance and support to administrative and legal support staff; assist with training as needed.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Active California Bar license in good standing (required).
- 4+ years of civil litigation experience (collections litigation and/or judgment enforcement experience strongly preferred).
- J.D. from an accredited law school.
- Knowledge of California state court rules and procedures; familiarity with federal practice is a plus.
- Strong legal writing and oral advocacy skills.
- Excellent time management and ability to prioritise in a deadline‑driven environment.
- Detail‑oriented with strong organisational habits and consistent follow‑through.
- Collaborative, professional demeanour with strong client service instincts.
- Ability to work effectively in a high‑volume environment without sacrificing quality.
