Litigation Assistant

A highly respected Orange County law firm is seeking a Litigation Assistant to join its team. This is a fully onsite position offering strong compensation (up to $105K), outstanding benefits, and the opportunity to work in a collaborative, professional environment.

This role works closely with the Litigation Resource Manager and litigation attorneys and requires strong organization, accountability, and attention to detail. The ideal candidate thrives in a fast‑paced setting and takes ownership of their work.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform general case management for litigation matters
  • Draft and prepare pleadings, motions, affidavits, complaints, discovery requests/responses, and legal memoranda
  • E‑file documents in state and federal courts (paper file when required)
  • Identify and submit deadlines for docketing and manage ongoing case calendars
  • Assist with review, organization, and summarization of case materials

    Prepare matrices, charts, spreadsheets, and privilege logs
  • Proofread and revise documents with a high level of accuracy
  • Support arbitration and trial preparation
  • Maintain accurate billable time entries
  • Utilize firm software including Microsoft Office and Net Docs
  • Work overtime as needed
Qualifications
  • Undergraduate degree and/or ABA‑approved paralegal certificate preferred
  • Prior litigation experience as a legal secretary or junior paralegal preferred
  • Strong state and federal e‑filing experience
  • Knowledge of court rules and legal terminology
  • Excellent written, verbal, and proofreading skills
  • Highly organized with strong time management abilities
  • Ability to manage multiple projects under pressure
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Adobe, PowerPoint, and Net Docs
  • Team‑oriented with strong professional communication skills
