Summary
The Material Program Manager (MPM) leads supply chain activities for assigned programs, advising leadership on material strategies, plans, and status. The role collaborates with team members to ensure successful program execution, focusing on early supply chain and supplier involvement.
Position Responsibilities- Participate in generating and executing the supply chain program strategy and plan for assigned development programs.
- Plan, execute, and report on material and labor budgets, earned value management, EAC (Estimate at Completion), and AOP (Annual Operating Plan) commitments.
- Generate BOEs (Basis of Estimate) and perform CAM (Cost Account Manager) duties for supply chain labor.
- Conduct supply chain risk assessment and execute mitigation plans to meet customer delivery requirements.
- Manage subcontractor pricing and schedule to support proposals and contract performance.
- Plan and manage a dynamic material and services delivery forecast.
- Ensure supply chain is consulted for development programs and act as liaison between teams.
- Develop and achieve organizational and program objectives as a self‑starter, interfacing with all internal management and supplier management levels.
- Collaborate with supply chain functions, monitor performance metrics, and proactively address program and functional issues.
- Create supplier risk and opportunity management plans.
- Support leadership reviews, including gate reviews, monthly operations reviews, program reviews, and customer reviews.
- Represent supply chain in the integrated program team (IPT).
- Manage bill of materials (BOM).
- Work with stakeholders to resolve material shortages.
- Provide support to ensure delivery of program supply chain objectives.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Bachelor’s degree in supply chain, finance, business management, engineering or a related discipline plus at least 2+ years of supply chain program support in an engineering or production environment.
- Strong leadership and project management skills.
- Persistent influence over others to meet schedules and escalation requirements.
- Experience with material forecasting and negotiations.
- Commitment to obtain an MPM or PMP certification after starting in the role.
- Excellent communication, leadership, and IPT‑environment teamwork skills.
- Self‑starter with strong time‑management and prioritization abilities.
- Effective interpersonal and communication skills.
- Experience with Oracle or a comparable ERP system.
- Attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
- Capacity to excel in a fast‑paced, deadline‑driven environment.
- Strong initiative and drive to accomplish goals and meet company objectives.
- Ownership and responsibility for current and past work products.
- Commitment to learning from mistakes and improving performance.

- Ability to work in an office and manufacturing environment (constant).
- Must sit and stand for long periods; use hands, fingers, and voice to operate a computer and telephone (frequent).
- U.S. citizen, U.S. permanent resident (Green Card holder), or protected status such as asylee or refugee (required).
- Occasional travel within the continental United States.
$54,593 – $77,385
