Overview
Define, lead and implement procurement strategies for assigned Raw Material categories, including chemicals and biological products. Manage assigned Raw Material portfolio ensuring all activities are conducted in accordance with the Category Strategy and Global Procurement Roadmap. Bring procurement support and added value to operations at site/region level and facilitate Raw Material procurement activities.
Primary Duties- Drive definition and implementation of procurement strategies for assigned commodities.
- Accountable for the strategic deployment across the Company and functionally manage the Procurement network relevant for assigned categories.
- Manage the portfolio on criteria such as quality/compliance, cost, service, OTIF, CSR and risk management.
- Manage supplier performance and conduct Business Reviews.
- Lead proposals on savings, innovation and CSR initiatives within the Procurement portfolio.
- Prepare and lead commercial negotiations and contracting.
- Serve as the Procurement referent and coordinator for the Function Management Committee.
- Ensure all functional requirements are considered and addressed.
- Support and guarantee the performance transformation of the global Procurement department within peripheral responsibilities.
- Adhere to company quality procedures and standards.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Bachelor degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Purchasing, Finance or Economics and 7+ years of experience in procurement, purchasing, supply chain or similar field.
- OR HS diploma or GED and 11+ years of experience in procurement, purchasing, supply chain or similar field.
- Experience in biotech industry is preferred.
- Sciences (Biological or Chemical) background is a plus.
- Functional know‑how: preparing and leading negotiations, contract management and legal awareness, total cost management, managing multicultural interfaces, planning and organizing, global business acumen.

- Ability to work cross‑functionally, facilitating better collaboration and communication when working across teams to achieve shared objectives.

- Written communication skills, including the ability to communicate technical data in written form.
- Skilled in MS Office tools, including Outlook, Teams, Word, and Excel.
International travel required: 30% of time
The estimated salary range for this role based in Missouri is between $128,000 - $163,800. This role is eligible to receive a variable annual bonus based on company, team, and individual performance per bio Merieux's bonus program. The range may differ from ranges offered for similar positions elsewhere in the country due to cost‑of‑living differences. Compensation within this range will be presented in writing at the time of the offer.
