Purchasing Specialist
Our client, a leading organization in the manufacturing industry, is seeking a Purchasing Specialist to join their team. As a Purchasing Specialist, you will be part of the procurement department supporting cross-functional teams. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong negotiation skills, attention to detail, and proactive communication, which will align successfully in the organization.
Location:
Kansas City, MO
Pay Range: $22.00
Shift: Monday - Friday 8am - 5pm
What's the Job?
- Develop and execute purchasing plans for materials, equipment, and services within assigned categories.
- Source, evaluate, and select suppliers based on quality, price competitiveness, delivery reliability, and service performance.
- Conduct price inquiries, request quotations, and negotiate terms and conditions with suppliers to optimize cost efficiency.
- Review purchase requisitions, prepare purchase orders, and ensure timely submission and approval in ERP or procurement systems.
- Track order status, follow up on delivery schedules, and coordinate with logistics and warehouse teams to ensure timely receipt of goods.
What's Needed?
- Experience in procurement or supply chain management.
- Strong negotiation and communication skills.
- Ability to analyze market trends and provide cost-saving recommendations.
- Proficiency with ERP or procurement systems.
- Knowledge of import tariffs, trade policies, and customs procedures.
