Position Summary & Responsibilities
Logos Space is a Low Earth Orbit (LEO) satellite system purpose-built to serve the connectivity needs of commercial enterprise users and government users. We will help fill an important gap in the market, providing resilient, high‑performance satellite‑based connectivity services to enterprise and government customers worldwide. Speed and reliability are the foundation of the system.
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Supply Chain Lead to manage the end‑to‑end supply chain for our Low Earth Orbit satellite constellation components. This critical operations role will focus on securing and managing suppliers for Commercial Off‑the‑Shelf (COTS), radiation‑tolerant (rad‑tolerant), and space‑ready components required for both the satellite bus and payload. This role will develop strategic partnerships with external bus manufacturers and contract manufacturers (CMs), ensure material readiness, and establish robust supply chain processes to support rate production schedules and overall mission success.
It requires strong operational execution, strategic supplier management, and a deep understanding of commercial and custom silicon components procurement requirements.
- Develop and execute a comprehensive supply chain strategy tailored to the unique demands of LEO satellite production, focusing on risk mitigation, cost control, and schedule adherence.
- Lead supplier identification, qualification, and selection process for critical components (COTS, rad‑tolerant, and space‑qualified) for satellite bus and payload systems.
- Negotiate procurement agreements, long‑term supply contracts, and with key domestic and international suppliers and partners.
- Establish and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) for supply chain health, supplier performance, and cost of goods sold (COGS).
- Partner closely with Engineering, Quality, and Program Management teams to define material requirements, manage Bills of Materials (BOMs), and ensure component specifications meet flight hardware standards.
- Own the material readiness plan, driving timely component sourcing and delivery to support contract manufacturer and external bus partner build schedules.
- Manage inventory levels and material flow optimization to prevent shortages, reduce lead times, and support high‑rate production demands.
- Implement robust supply chain risk management strategies, including identifying sole‑source risks, qualifying alternative sources, and managing obsolescence plans.
- Oversee the lifecycle management of components, ensuring compliance with export control regulations (e.g., ITAR, EAR) where applicable.
- Serve as the primary supply chain interface with external satellite bus partners and contract manufacturers (CMs).
- Collaborate with CMs to integrate company supply chain strategies into their production processes, ensuring alignment on forecasting, scheduling, and quality standards.
- Conduct regular supplier performance reviews and audits, driving continuous improvement in quality, delivery, and cost.
- Provide leadership and guidance on make‑versus‑buy decisions in collaboration with internal stakeholders.
- U.S. Person status is required as this position needs to access export‑controlled data.
- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Engineering, or a related technical field or equivalent experience.
- Minimum 8 years of experience in supply chain, procurement, or operations management, with at least 3 years in a leadership or senior specialist role.
- Demonstrated experience managing complex supply chains in the aerospace, defense, or high‑tech manufacturing industries.
- Proven expertise in sourcing and procuring technical hardware, including electronic components (e.g., COTS, specialized semiconductors, connectors).
- Strong understanding of quality management systems (e.g., AS9100 or ISO 9001) and associated supplier quality requirements.
