Location: Chesterfield
Our client a leading Healthcare & Life Sciences provider is seeking a Lab Technician / Chemical Handler to join their team! This will be located in Chesterfield, MO.
You will help manage the expedient and accurate global distribution of samples to various external and internal customers for the purpose of evaluating North American and Global Development studies to support new and re-registration activities for crop science products.
Core Responsibilities- Process sample orders via Sample Logistics applications
- Prepare sample orders for shipping and attach appropriate Safety Data Sheets (SDS)
- Scan each sample order and corresponding samples for packaging into shipping containers
- Complete shipping processes according to IATA and/or DOT regulations and file shipping documents
- Assist with completing international shipments and communicating shipping details
- Conduct and reconcile sample inventories (current, bulk, and GLP) using Sample Logistics applications and create Excel inventory reports
- Receive packages for the Sample Logistics team and maintain accurate records for future reference
- Maintain archived Certificates of Analysis for GLP samples
- Assist in overseeing the restricted GLP cage area where GLP samples are maintained and secured according to GLP regulations
- Sub-fill sample containers while adhering to all HSE, SDS, and site safety policies
- Apply FIFRA research sample labels and stickers according to process orders
- Scan samples into inventory and complete process orders
- Identify questionable test substances based on appearance and consult Sample Logistics management when necessary
- Maintain, update, and archive Safety Data Sheets (SDS) for Sample Logistics inventory by retrieving SDS documents from global QHSE databases and supplier/manufacturer databases
- Maintain bulk inventory with appropriate labels, scan materials to physical locations, and place containers on designated shelves
- Assist in ordering, receiving, and organizing supplies in designated areas for the Sample Logistics team
- Support the Sample Logistics team with additional duties as requested
- Complete all required trainings, including IATA and DOT certifications
- Report discrepancies with orders, computer/application issues, and any other sample process concerns to the designated Sample Logistics contact person
- Associate degree or equivalent experience in science-related field
- 0+ years of related experience
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment
- High level of integrity
- Self‑motivated, flexible, and adaptable to change
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Knowledge of working with pesticides and laboratory experience
- Experience working with balances/scales and strong math skills
- Knowledge and experience interpreting Safety Data Sheets (SDS)
- Barcode scanning experience
- Ability to work effectively in a fast‑paced environment
- Pay Range:
The approximate pay range for this position is between $16.45 and $23.50. Please note that the pay range provided is a good faith estimate. Final compensation may vary based on factors including but not limited to background, knowledge, skills, and location. We comply with local wage minimums. - Employee Stock Ownership Plan
