Alila Ventana Big Sur is seeking a dependable, organized, and detail-oriented Receiving Clerk to join our team. This position is responsible for receiving, inspecting, documenting, storing, and distributing deliveries for the resort, including food and beverage products, operating supplies, equipment, packages, and other goods.

The Receiving Clerk plays an important role in supporting resort operations by ensuring that all items are received accurately, handled safely, stored properly, and delivered to the appropriate departments in a timely manner. The ideal candidate is highly organized, comfortable with inventory and documentation, and able to work collaboratively with Purchasing, Culinary, Food & Beverage, Housekeeping, Engineering, Spa, and other resort departments.

• Receive and inspect deliveries, shipments, packages, supplies, food products, beverages, equipment, and other goods.
• Verify items received against purchase orders, invoices, packing slips, and delivery documents.
• Check deliveries for accuracy, quality, quantity, temperature, damage, expiration dates, and proper labeling.
• Record discrepancies, shortages, overages, damaged goods, substitutions, or quality concerns and communicate issues to Purchasing or department leadership.
• Ensure perishable food and beverage items are handled, stored, and delivered according to food safety and sanitation standards.
• Maintain proper organization of receiving areas, storerooms, coolers, freezers, dry storage, and assigned back-of-house spaces.
• Label, date, rotate, and store products according to resort standards and FIFO procedures.
• Deliver received items to appropriate departments in a timely and professional manner.
• Assist with inventory counts, par checks, supply audits, and stock rotation.
• Support accurate recordkeeping for invoices, purchase orders, receiving logs, credits, returns, and department transfers.
• Work closely with vendors, delivery drivers, Purchasing, Accounting, Culinary, Food & Beverage, Housekeeping, Spa, Engineering, and resort operations teams.
• Maintain cleanliness, safety, and organization of the receiving dock, storerooms, carts, shelves, and equipment.
• Operate carts, pallet jacks, hand trucks, and other receiving equipment safely and properly.
• Report maintenance issues, safety hazards, pest concerns, temperature concerns, or storage issues to leadership.
• Follow all resort safety, sanitation, storage, security, and receiving procedures.
• Assist with moving, organizing, and staging supplies for resort departments as needed.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

This is an hourly position with a compensation of $24.50 per hour.

• Previous receiving, purchasing, inventory, storeroom, warehouse, hotel, resort, food and beverage, or hospitality experience preferred.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy when checking deliveries, invoices, and inventory.
• Ability to read and understand purchase orders, packing slips, invoices, and product labels.
• Basic computer skills and ability to maintain logs, checklists, and inventory records.
• Good communication skills and ability to work professionally with vendors and resort colleagues.
• Ability to follow food safety, sanitation, storage, and handling procedures.
• Ability to prioritize tasks and work efficiently in a resort environment with changing business needs.
• Must be dependable, punctual, organized, and able to work independently.
• Food handler certification or ability to obtain required certification preferred.
