Senior Buyer

Responsibilities

• Assist in the development and implementation of Purchasing Strategies
• Regional / Divisional commodity responsibility for sourcing and managing the supply base
• Manage RFQ(s) to the supply base according to the commodity strategy
• Evaluate supplier cost structure to obtain best overall value
• Develop and implement commodity strategies in assigned commodities
• Lead MML divisions in establishing supplier Long Term Agreements
• Coordinate supplier development, consolidation, and reduction programs/suppliers
• Keep senior MML management informed of critical issues through clear communications and presentations.

• Bachelor’s degree in manufacturing, engineering, business, or related discipline
• 3-5 years' progressive experience in Purchasing field preferably in an automotive / manufacturing environment
• Previous commodity experience including but not limited to electronics, wire harnesses, resin, injection molding, fasteners, assemblies
• Ability to travel domestically and internationally, approximately 20% of the time
• Must have demonstrated success in satisfying OEM’s and Tier 1 suppliers in a complex, competitive automotive market
• Functional experience in areas of strategic planning, manufacturing, purchasing, supply chain management and supplier quality.
• Experience with manufacturing best practices and continuous improvement.

Demonstrates expertise in Purchasing Strategies, Supplier Management, and Commodity Strategy Development within the automotive manufacturing sector. Proven ability to evaluate supplier cost structures and implement best practices for continuous improvement.
