Chief Engineer

The Marina del Rey Hotel is looking for a Chief Engineer to join the team! The Chief Engineer will be responsible for the smooth and efficient operation of the maintenance department at the property.

• Maintain a friendly, cheerful and courteous demeanor at all times, while providing personalized service to hotel guests.
• Communicate effectively with guests and fellow team members.
• Supervise the interior and exterior maintenance needs of the entire property.
• Corrective, preventative and emergency maintenance to maintain property in safe and attractive condition.
• Documentation of all mandatory, ongoing, room preventative maintenance.
• Schedule and assign duties to maintenance staff.
• Ensure that tools and equipment are functional and in safe working condition.
• Maintain records of types and frequency of maintenance.
• Make approved purchases of supplies, equipment and services.
• Maintain inventory of tools, supplies and equipment.
• Conduct regular safety inspections of the property and actively participate in the Hotel’s Safety Committee.
• Manage and maintain required certifications and ensure compliance with state and federal regulations relating to health and safety.
• Train and supervise maintenance staff.
• Thorough knowledge of power, water, and gas turnoffs, plumbing cleanouts, fire extinguishers.
• Ensure maintenance of exterior lighting, gutter cleaning, walkways, parking areas, trash enclosures, pool/spa, and common area facilities.
• Ensure proper control and possession of all hotel issued keys.
• Provide assistance to other team members and departments to contribute to the best overall performance of the hotel.
• Perform other duties as assigned, requested or deemed necessary by management.

$85,000-$90,000 annually

Qualifications Knowledge/Education/

Experience:

• Minimum of two years hotel experience as a maintenance department supervisor or progressive maintenance responsibility
• Working knowledge of electricity, plumbing, carpentry, drywall, screening, locks, HVAC, pool/spa care
