Building Maintenance, Maintenance Technician / Mechanic
The Marina del Rey Hotel is looking for a Chief Engineer to join the team! The Chief Engineer will be responsible for the smooth and efficient operation of the maintenance department at the property.
Responsibilities- Maintain a friendly, cheerful and courteous demeanor at all times, while providing personalized service to hotel guests.
- Communicate effectively with guests and fellow team members.
- Supervise the interior and exterior maintenance needs of the entire property.
- Corrective, preventative and emergency maintenance to maintain property in safe and attractive condition.
- Documentation of all mandatory, ongoing, room preventative maintenance.
- Schedule and assign duties to maintenance staff.
- Ensure that tools and equipment are functional and in safe working condition.
- Maintain records of types and frequency of maintenance.
- Make approved purchases of supplies, equipment and services.
- Maintain inventory of tools, supplies and equipment.
- Conduct regular safety inspections of the property and actively participate in the Hotel’s Safety Committee.
- Manage and maintain required certifications and ensure compliance with state and federal regulations relating to health and safety.
- Train and supervise maintenance staff.
- Thorough knowledge of power, water, and gas turnoffs, plumbing cleanouts, fire extinguishers.
- Ensure maintenance of exterior lighting, gutter cleaning, walkways, parking areas, trash enclosures, pool/spa, and common area facilities.
- Ensure proper control and possession of all hotel issued keys.
- Provide assistance to other team members and departments to contribute to the best overall performance of the hotel.
- Perform other duties as assigned, requested or deemed necessary by management.

SalaryRange
$85,000-$90,000 annually

Qualifications Knowledge/Education/
Experience:
- Minimum of two years hotel experience as a maintenance department supervisor or progressive maintenance responsibility
- Working knowledge of electricity, plumbing, carpentry, drywall, screening, locks, HVAC, pool/spa care
- Proper tool and chemical use
