The Job
The Director, Partner Management will report to and support the VP Business Development & Licensing in managing and scaling WBIE’s largest IP integration partners. Licensing of WBD IP to other game publishers is an important pillar of WB Games’ growth strategy and this Director will be on the front lines, working directly with the biggest partners to provide creative guidance in identifying new integration opportunities as well as obtaining and facilitating asset delivery and brand reviews/approvals, and ultimately scaling revenues.
As the principal interface with our licensed integration partners (i.e., Roblox, Fortnite, Minecraft and others), the Director will be responsible for day-to-day management and execution of these integrations to ensure that all activations meet the WBD’s quality and brand standards, working closely with internal stakeholders (including other divisions such as theatrical, animation and DC), and providing visibility to WBIE Sr. management and other necessary execs.
In addition, the Director will manage partner QBRs, reporting back to WBIE Sr. Management on the success, challenges and opportunities as well as generating a detailed plan for scaling WBIE’s revenues via such partners. The Director will also be responsible for working with WB Games’ brand teams to leverage IP integrations to generate promotional opportunities for games published by WB Games, when appropriate.
The ideal candidate will have experience in licensee management (ideally with our current integration partners) and a strong understanding of game development. They should have experience working with IP and creative stakeholders. The ideal candidate should also have a deep understanding of the product strategy and business models of the top platform partners in the industry. Finally, interpersonal skills are crucial to growing this area of the business so it will be key to establish trusted relationships with franchise teams and IP stakeholders across WBD.

- Coordinate reference/asset delivery and approvals for all integrations. This includes coordinating with IP stakeholders (e.g., DC, HBO, Theatrical) as well as working through rights and talent clearance, for both the production and marketing pipelines to ensure integrations meet all creative and brand quality standards.
- Work collaboratively across the studio (including with internal WB Games sr mgmt. and WBD IP Stakeholders) to identify and provide visibility to potential integration opportunities.
- Work with WB Games on potential cross promotional partnerships between specific games and licensee platforms. Work closely with WB Brand and WB Technology on creative new innovative programs to drive both revenue and awareness
- Provide strategic management of partners:
Monitor performance of integrations and provide strategic management of partners including managing QBRs and creating plans/reports for internal reporting. Leverage learnings to benefit the entire organization. - Develop best-in-class integration roadmaps and ensure clear communication across applicable stakeholders and coordinated launch windows across WB Games (via Franchise PD leadership) and throughout the studio.
- Create innovative marketing opportunities for WB Games’ games on the integration partners’ platforms, working closely with WB Games marketing teams.
- 10+ years of relevant experience; video game licensing / business development/project management experience paired with strong knowledge and sensibilities around game development and marketing
- Prior experience working with key licensee platforms like Fortnite, Roblox, Minecraft
- Experience with coordinating multiple high level projects at once
- Experience working with established brands/IP/talent and/or working at a film studio/entertainment company
- Experience building strategic frameworks for reviewing business performance
- BA/BS required
- Understanding of video game industry and the different trends/business models of key partners
- Executive-level communication skills
- Strong attention to detail with a trained eye to review production and marketing assets
