OVERALLOBJECTIVES
The Senior Vice President, Regional Manager – Santa Barbara is the Bank’s senior executive leader for the Central Coast region, with full responsibility for regional performance including deposit growth, loan production, portfolio quality, and team leadership. This is a career-defining role for a proven banking executive with deep Santa Barbara/Central Coast market ties who wants the authority, resources, and platform to materially expand high-quality financial services to the community.
The SVP will set the regional growth strategy, drive key relationships, and scale the infrastructure required to support sustainable long-term growth. The position reports to the Chief Credit Officer and leads a team of seasoned banking professionals, including 5 direct reports, total team of 10.
- Own and execute the Central Coast growth strategy, with clear accountability for deposit expansion, loan production, and client acquisition
- Serve as the Bank’s senior representative in the Santa Barbara market, strengthening brand presence through strategic networking, community leadership, and professional engagement throughout the Central Coast region.
- Originate and cultivate complex commercial banking relationships, serving as a trusted advisor to business owners, investors, and high-net-worth clients
- Provide informed loan recommendations and approvals in partnership with Credit Administration
- Actively manage a diversified credit portfolio, monitor its performance, and address emerging risk
- Build, mentor, and retain a high-performing regional team and develop scalable processes and infrastructure to support continued growth
- Ensure full compliance with all state and federal banking regulations and serve as the regional control point for regulatory adherence and operational risk management
Minimum of 10
-15 years of banking experience with recent experience as a Regional SVP/VP, Market President or Chief Banking Officer. Demonstrated experience managing a team of at least 10.
Demonstrated success in the Santa Barbara County market is essential, including established relationships and a strong professional reputation
Demonstrated experience scaling and growing a regional market, including new branch openings.
Proven track record of business development, deposit gathering, and loan growth in competitive markets
Strong leadership capability with a history of building and developing cohesive, high-performing teams
Deep credit expertise including experience negotiating complex credit structures, covenants and reporting requirements
Exceptional judgment, analytical ability, and executive-level communication skills
EDUCATIONBachelor's degree in Business, Accounting, Finance or related discipline
