Overview

We are looking for a self-starting, motivated person who excels at building relationships, enjoys sales and marketing, and provides excellent customer service. The District Executive manages a designated district within the council, focusing on growing in finance, membership, and volunteer development. A Scouting background is NOT required for this position.

Responsibilities
  • Develop and grow the district across finance, membership, and volunteer development.
  • Build relationships, engage diverse audiences, and provide customer service in support of program goals.
  • Utilize marketing, management, budgeting, event planning, fundraising, and public speaking skills.
  • Represent the council in community and business settings to advance Scouting initiatives.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree (Required)
  • US work authorization (Required)
  • Sales experience (1 year preferred)
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Outlook, and Excel
  • Must possess and maintain a valid driver's license
  • Must be 21 years of age or older (unless prohibited by law)
  • Ability to travel for training at least once a year for one to two weeks
  • Ability to lift 20 pounds regularly
  • Strong communication skills (verbal and written) and the ability to work with volunteers and community leaders
  • Non-profit, fundraising, sales, or marketing experience is a plus
  • Understanding of Scouting expectations and ability to subscribe to Scout Oath and Law
Starting Pay and Benefits
  • Base salary: $44,000 per year
  • Performance incentive: up to $10,000 annually
  • Benefits include major medical, prescription, dental, vision, life, long-term disability, and 403(b) with company matching
  • Business-related expense coverage (phone $40/month, mileage)
  • PTO: 22 days per year plus paid holidays

Requirements
  • Willing to meet Scouting America leadership and membership standards and subscribe to Scout Oath and Law
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution
  • Proficient in Word, Outlook, and Excel
  • Valid driver’s license
  • Must live in or relocate to the service area
  • Ability to travel for training; occasionally evening or weekend work
  • Ability to work flexible hours as needed
  • Criminal, reference, and motor vehicle background checks required for employment
