Job Summary

Leonardo DRS Land Systems is seeking a full‑time Senior Manager of Business Development for our Bridgeton, MO facility. The Senior Manager will manage and conduct the evaluation and implementation of new initiatives and business opportunities under the direction of the senior business development leader or site lead. The role provides strategic and tactical direction by evaluating growth initiatives, shaping capture approaches, and driving opportunity execution.

This position conducts, and may oversee, market and competitive analysis, identifies and explores customer needs, and supports the planning, design, and implementation of business plans. The Senior Manager ensures follow‑through on the company’s vision, strategies, and tactics by coordinating commitments across internal departments and functions, developing and tracking project schedules, and leading strategic alliances and external business relationships. The role may manage Business Development staff and decisions may significantly impact the overall success of the business unit.

Preferred candidates have prior DoD experience, ideally with Fires and/or ADA background, or experience/expertise in C‑UAS, SHORAD, and related mission sets.

Responsibilities
  • Manage and conduct the evaluation and implementation of new initiatives and business opportunities.
  • Provide strategic and tactical direction by evaluating growth initiatives.
  • Conduct or oversee market analysis and competitive activity.
  • Identify and explore customer needs.
  • Assist in planning, designing, and implementing business plans.
  • Assist with the follow‑through and deployment of the company’s vision, strategies, and tactics.
  • Coordinate and facilitate activities with other departments and functions.
  • Develop and track project schedules.
  • Participate in strategic alliances and external business relationships.
  • May manage Business Development staff.
  • Support, communicate, reinforce, and defend the mission, values, and culture of the organization.
  • Make presentations on the company portfolio of products and services.
  • Attend business meetings and trade shows.
  • Analyze and generally understand the government budgeting process.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Engineering, or a related discipline, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 10+ years of related experience.
  • Strong interpersonal, verbal, written, and presentation communication skills.
  • Planning, organization, project management, and time management skills.
  • Ability to work on complex problems.
  • Knowledge of company products, markets, and technology.
  • Strong analytical and financial skills.
  • Willing and able to travel 25‑50% of the time.
  • DoD experience preferred.
Additional Requirements

U.S. citizenship required. This position requires an active DoD security clearance or the ability to obtain such clearance within a reasonable time after commencement of employment.

Compensation and Benefits

Salary range: $ – $ per year for the State of Illinois. Additional compensation may include annual performance‑based bonuses, equity awards, and overtime pay (for non‑exempt employees as applicable).
