Job Title

PARK MAINTENANCE SUPERVISOR – CHANNEL COAST DISTRICT / LA PURISIMA MISSION STATE HISTORIC PARK

Salary: $5,658.00 – $7,014.00 per month (minimum classification salary for new-to-state candidates).

Location:

La Purisima Mission State Historic Park, Lompoc, CA.

• Outdoors in all weather, including unpleasant conditions such as bad weather, raw sewage, and chemicals.
• Hazardous situations such as exposure to raw sewage, chemicals, elevated heights, and fast‑moving machinery or traffic.
• Manual labor: digging, trenching, lifting, carrying, and loading heavy objects.
• Ability to walk uneven terrain, both uphill and downhill.
• Stand for up to 2 hours at a time.
• Read, write, and speak clearly and concisely.
• Make sound decisions based on available information and situational parameters.
• Perform basic mathematical computations as required.

• Plan, supervise, and direct the overall maintenance program for La Purisima Mission Historic Park, Point Sal State Beach, and the Santa Inés Mission Mills unclassified property.
• Manage budget, scheduling, daily housekeeping, facility maintenance, grounds maintenance, and equipment management.
• Oversee MAXIMO and related systems for maintenance tracking.
• Provide leadership, training, and employee development opportunities to staff.
• Work directly with district core staff and report progress on projects, controversial or sensitive issues, and overall program status.
• Coordinate with district management and comply with agency policies and regulations.

• Valid California Class C driver’s license; provide license number, class, expiration, and any endorsements or restrictions.
• Background investigation and medical clearance prior to hiring.
• Drug and alcohol testing may be required under California Code of Regulations 599.961.
• Position is not telework eligible.
