Responsibilities- Inspect work performed to ensure that it meets specifications and established standards.
- Plan and prepare employee work schedules.
- Investigate complaints about service and equipment, and take corrective action.
- Coordinate activities with other departments to ensure that services are provided in an efficient and timely manner.
- Check equipment to ensure that it is in working order.
- Inspect grounds, facilities, and equipment routinely to determine necessity of repairs or maintenance and perform said repairs and maintenance.
- Select the most suitable cleaning materials for different types of linens, furniture, flooring, and surfaces.
- Instruct staff in work policies and procedures, and the use and maintenance of equipment.
- Evaluate employee performance, and recommend personnel actions such as promotions, transfers, and dismissals.
- Confer with staff in order to resolve performance and personnel problems, and to discuss company policies.
- Recommend or arrange for additional services such as painting, repair work, renovations, and the replacement of furnishings and equipment.
- Select and order or purchase new equipment, supplies, and furnishings.
- Screen job applicants, and hire new employees.
- Plan, schedule, coordinate and perform general maintenance, major repairs, and remodeling or construction projects.
- Maintain contact with insurance carriers, fire and police departments, and other agencies to ensure protection and compliance with codes and regulations.
- Bachelor's degree in Business or Facilities Management or related business field is or relevant maintenance supervisor experience preferred.
- 3 to 7 years managing a facility and maintenance of facilities.
- Prior supervisory experience required.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills are required.
- The ability to maintain a high degree of confidentiality is required.
- Knowledge of all applicable codes and regulations.
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to sit for long periods, stand, walk, bend and stoop to perform the essential functions of this job. Occasionally lift and/or move up to 20 pounds.
