Sr. Account Executive - Express Scripts - Hybrid
Position Overview
The Sr. Account Executive manages the relationship with existing commercial clients, owns the client relationship, develops long‑term account strategy, and leads the meeting of client immediate needs. The role identifies upsell and expansion opportunities, incorporates them into an annual strategic plan, and supports client retention and satisfaction to achieve corporate strategic goals.
Essential Functions- Manage and strengthen client relationships and ensure satisfaction levels are met.
- Handle client renewals, upsells, expansions, and meet client retention targets.
- Direct the activities of the internal Account Management team and related team members to support client strategic objectives and escalated service issues.
- Lead special projects and task forces as assigned.
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field or 14+ years of experience, or a Master’s degree with 6+ years of relevant experience.
- Experience working with consultants.
- Accountability for developing a client‑specific strategic plan and monitoring it with necessary adjustments.
- Deliver recurring business reviews with clients (annually, quarterly).
- Act as an account strategist for assigned accounts both internally and externally.
- Identify opportunities for upsells, expansions, and maximizing revenue growth.
- Interface directly with assigned clients and groups on a quarterly basis or more frequently as needed.
- Represent Express Scripts with ongoing communication to maintain and grow the relationship, ensuring client retention.
- Strong PC skills including Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint; working knowledge of financials.
- Strong project‑management skills.
- Superior verbal and written communication and presentation skills.
- Ability to negotiate, lead others, organize, analyze, and interpret information.
- Travel up to 40% of the time as needed to meet goals.
