Your Mission

As a Site Safety Manager at Hydrostor, you will lead the development, implementation, and oversight of comprehensive safety programs across our project. Reporting to the Director, Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS), you will play a pivotal role in shaping and executing Hydrostor’s safety culture, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and regulatory requirements. This is a mid‑to‑senior‑level role with direct impact on the safety performance of our projects, including responsibility for managing safety staff, interfacing with regulatory agencies, and driving best‑in‑class practices across all operations.

Day‑to‑Day Adventures
  • Program Leadership & Development
    :
    Establish, implement, and continuously improve site safety policies, procedures, and standards in alignment with company goals and regulatory requirements.
  • Compliance & Regulatory Oversight
    :
    Ensure full compliance with local, national, and international health, safety, and environmental regulations. Serve as the primary contact for agencies such as OSHA, Cal/OSHA, EPA, and other regulatory bodies.
  • Team Leadership & Mentorship
    :
    Supervise and mentor safety personnel (e.g., safety coordinators, inspectors, and officers). Provide coaching, training, and career development to strengthen team capability.
  • Contractor & Stakeholder Management
    :
    Oversee contractor safety programs to ensure all external partners adhere to Hydrostor’s EHS requirements. Build strong relationships with contractors, consultants, and regulatory officials.
  • Risk Management & Audits
    :
    Conduct high‑level risk assessments, site audits, and hazard analyses to identify and mitigate potential risks. Develop and implement corrective and preventive measures to ensure safe operations.
  • Training & Development
    :
    Design and deliver comprehensive training programs to employees, contractors, and leadership teams. Foster a culture of accountability and continuous learning in safety practices.
  • Incident & Emergency Response
    :
    Lead investigations of safety incidents, ensuring root cause analysis, corrective actions, and knowledge sharing across projects. Oversee emergency preparedness plans and conduct regular drills.
  • Data, Reporting & Analysis
    :
    Manage safety performance metrics and dashboards. Analyze data trends to identify improvement opportunities and report results to leadership and project stakeholders. Reporting back to leadership and project teams
  • Environmental Stewardship
    :
    Partner with EHS leadership to integrate environmental sustainability and resource conservation into site safety practices.
  • Presentation Skills in Safety
    :
    Demonstrate strong public speaking abilities to effectively deliver safety training sessions, emergency response plans, and hazard awareness briefings to diverse audiences, ensuring clear communication and engagement to promote a culture of safety compliance.
  • Reporting Skills
    :
    Proficient in documenting safety observations, audits, and metrics using standardized formats like OSHA forms or internal software, with emphasis on accuracy, timeliness, and data analysis to identify trends and support proactive risk management.
  • Toolbox Talks
    :
    Lead concise, interactive daily or weekly sessions on specific safety topics such as PPE usage or lockout/tagout procedures, fostering team participation to reinforce safe work practices and address immediate job‑site concerns.

    :
    Conduct thorough root cause analyses following accidents or near‑misses, utilizing methods like the 5 Whys or fishbone…
