Role Overview
As the Senior Director of Product Engineering, you will lead the end‑to‑end engineering organization responsible for building and scaling our digital product ecosystem. This is a senior leadership role accountable not only for delivery, but for the operating model, technical strategy, and long‑term engineering effectiveness of the organization. You will partner closely with Product, Design, Data, and executive leadership to translate business strategy into scalable, high‑quality software systems that power exceptional user experiences.
You will define how engineering operates — from architecture and quality standards to team structure, execution rigor, and technical decision‑making — ensuring the organization can deliver with speed, reliability, and precision. A key aspect of this role is driving continuous improvement in engineering efficiency and leverage, ensuring the organization scales its impact without linear increases in cost or complexity. This includes thoughtfully incorporating modern tooling and automation, including AI, into the software development lifecycle where it meaningfully improves productivity, quality, and speed.
- Own the product engineering strategy and operating model, translating business and product strategy into a scalable, high‑performing engineering organization
- Lead and evolve the engineering organization’s structure, culture, and leadership bench to sustain excellence, accountability, and growth
- Enable predictable, high‑quality software delivery at scale through clear ownership, execution rigor, and disciplined delivery practices
- Drive engineering efficiency and organizational leverage so impact scales faster than cost or complexity
- Improve developer productivity and effectiveness through modern tooling, automation, and thoughtful application of AI across the SDLC
- Establish and own engineering metrics and KPIs, using data to guide decisions and continuously improve outcomes
- Provide senior‑level technical and architectural leadership to ensure systems are scalable, resilient, and aligned to long‑term strategy
- Define and enforce quality, reliability, and performance standards across the engineering lifecycle
- Serve as a deeply trusted cross‑functional partner to Product, Design, Data, Platform, Security, and executive leadership
- Translate technical strategy and tradeoffs into clear business insights that inform prioritization and investment decisions
- 12+ years of engineering experience
- Proven leadership at scale
- Demonstrated experience improving engineering efficiency
- Experience with modern tooling and AI‑enabled development workflows
- Strong architecture and systems design expertise
- Experience defining and using engineering metrics
- Strong communication, leadership, and executive presence
$189,000 – $236,000 annually in addition to a competitive bonus plan.
