The iTAH is a newly created Senior Director role, established to provide the overarching TA strategic leadership that the Global & Local Operating Model demands. Serving as the primary International Markets counterpart to Global VP/TA Heads and a standing member of the Global Medical TA Leadership Team, the iTAH enables Regional Medical Leads (RMLs) and Regional Medical Engagement Leads (rMELs) across Europe, APAC and INTERCON to fully deliver on their mandate.

Key Responsibilities

TA Strategy & Scientific Leadership

  • Own International Markets TA medical strategy across the full asset lifecycle — from early pipeline shaping (ID2–ID4) through pre-launch, launch and lifecycle optimization.
  • Serve as primary International Markets representative to the Global VP/TA Head; participate as a standing member of the Global Medical TA LT.
  • Translate global TA strategy into clear direction for RMLs and rMELs across all regions, synthesizing pre-ID4 market perspectives and leading evidence generation strategy including RWE.

Regional Oversight & People Leadership

  • Provide strategic TA oversight and direction to RMLs and rMELs across Europe, APAC and ICON, embedding structured collaboration by design and replacing fragile informal workarounds.
  • Partner with the Region Medical Heads providing scientific leadership and aligning regional and TA strategy
  • Lead, coach and develop the TA team; build a strong succession bench of future Cluster Medical Heads and MPL candidates.

External Engagement & Cross-Functional Leadership

  • Build and lead senior external partnerships with thought leaders, academic centers and healthcare system stakeholders; represent International Medical at global TA forums and congresses.
  • Act as the senior medical bridge across International Medical, Global TA, Commercial, Market Access, Clinical Development and Regulatory — ensuring strategies are integrated, compliant and executable.
Who You Are

A senior medical leader with an advanced scientific or medical degree and deep expertise in Oncology/Haematology or Innovative Medicine (ICV/NS). You bring:

  • Advanced degree preferred (e.g., PharmD, PhD, MD); 15+ years of relevant bio-pharmaceutical industry experience; broad knowledge of TA preferred.
  • In-depth knowledge about at least one region or one of the key countries of BMS
  • Working knowledge of Research and Drug Development, including RWE, with the ability to communicate data impactfully.
  • Experience in program and project management, including defining key deliverables, tracking milestones and budget, and informing business tradeoffs.
  • Demonstrated success delivering results and leading strategically in a matrix environment and various business situations.
  • Strong strategic mindset with analytical skills, with an understanding of global dynamics, environment, and key markets.
  • Ability to influence across a matrix, with emotional intelligence, curiosity, and skills in proactively building and maintaining key relationships.
  • Ability to work independently in a fast-moving and increasingly complex environment.
  • Strong cross-cultural communication skills and the ability to adapt strategies to different audiences across multiple markets.
Why This Role, Why Now
