Manager – Industrial Gas, South Projects

• Run all functions of a Project Engineering team, including day-to-day management of Project Engineers and Construction Managers
• Ensure all parts of the project process are followed from initiation through project closeout
• Serve as main point of contact between operational facilities, business area partners, maintenance, and the project engineering team
• Lead workload of up to 7 Project Engineers, including direct and contingent worker personnel
• Supervise and forecast maintenance-led capital projects
• Manage regional staffing levels and engineering resources
• Participate in turnaround planning and ensure staffing for capital projects
• Mentor Project Engineers
• Review funding requests and project estimates before approval
• Ensure operability and hazard reviews are completed and recommendations addressed
• Ensure process safety compliance on projects
• Coordinate regional contractor development with procurement
• Coordinate contingent worker strategy through VNDLY
• Evaluate bid tabs for major contracts before award
• Manage project safety and communication protocols
• Lead monthly regional safety meetings and apply incident findings
• Lead regional capital project forecasts and capital plan development and execution
• Ensure projects meet customer operability needs
• Develop basic understanding of operating plant environments, processes, and equipment
• Lead monthly project status and gatekeeping meetings
• Apply Air Products quality standards
• Maintain accurate sub-region KPIs

• Manufacturing plant operations, maintenance, or capital projects experience (10 years minimum)
• Strong project management experience in project development and planning, estimating and forecasting, and execution and turnover
• Strong leadership abilities
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and planning skills
• Self-motivated and willingness to learn and improve
• High ethical standards
• Willing to work a wide variety of scheduled days and hours
• Plant outage experience
• Works authoritatively and collaboratively with employees, peers, management, support personnel, program participants and business area personnel

• Has excellent SAP skills within the Project System roles
• BS in Mechanical, Electrical, or Chemical Engineering preferred
• Project Management Professional (PMP) preferred
• Up to 20% domestic travel
• Ability to walk around a plant, supervise contractors, climb stairs and ladders

Demonstrates strong project management capabilities, including project development, planning, estimating, and execution, while ensuring compliance with safety and quality standards. Possesses leadership skills to manage and mentor a team of Project Engineers and effectively communicate with various stakeholders.
