Position SummaryThe Senior Director, Field Reimbursement - West leads the regional Field Reimbursement Manager (FRM) team and is accountable for translating the national market access strategy into consistent, compliant field execution.
This leader recruits, develops, coaches, and manages FRMs; establishes regional priorities and performance expectations; and ensures the team delivers effective reimbursement education and support to targeted accounts. Through regular field engagement and ride-alongs, the Senior Director evaluates FRM customer interactions, reinforces best practices, and develops team capabilities.
The Senior Director also represents the field perspective in strategic planning and partners across Market Access, Patient Support Services, Sales, and other functions to identify access barriers, improve execution, and strengthen the customer experience.
Job Requirements Required- Bachelor's degree.
- At least seven years of relevant experience in market access, reimbursement, managed care, patient services, or pharmaceutical or biotechnology commercialization, preferably supporting specialty or biologic products.
- At least three years of successful people-management experience, including demonstrated ability to recruit, coach, develop, and manage performance.
- Strong knowledge of Medicare Part B, medical-benefit reimbursement, patient access services, and field reimbursement practices.
- Experience working with patient support hubs or related patient services programs.
- Demonstrated ability to translate strategy into field execution and measurable business results.
- Strong leadership, communication, analytical, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
- Ability to operate effectively in a fast-paced, evolving environment.
- Ability to travel approximately 50 percent, including overnight travel.
- Advanced degree.
- Experience with complex billing, coding, claims, coverage, and payment processes.
- Knowledge of commercial, Medicare, Medicaid, and other government payer environments.
- Experience supporting urology, oncology, or other specialty products administered under the medical benefit.
- Experience working with private practices, integrated delivery networks, hospitals, health systems, and ambulatory surgery centers.
- Experience leading geographically dispersed field teams through organizational growth or expansion.
- Recruit, onboard, lead, and retain a high-performing team of Field Reimbursement Managers.
- Establish clear goals, performance expectations, and development priorities aligned with business objectives and service standards.
- Conduct regular field ride-alongs to observe customer engagements, provide timely coaching, and reinforce reimbursement and account-management best practices.
- Document coaching observations and create individualized development plans that strengthen core competencies and field effectiveness.
- Provide ongoing performance feedback, address performance gaps, and support succession and talent planning.
- Foster a collaborative, accountable, and inclusive team culture.
- Translate national market access strategy into regional plans, priorities, and measurable field activities.
- Lead the team in building reimbursement confidence and supporting appropriate patient access across targeted accounts.
- Monitor regional performance, customer needs, access barriers, and execution against established objectives and service levels.
