Position SummaryMonday - Thursday, 6 am - 4:30 pm The Line Loader and Unloader organizes, sorts, and prioritizes core material, ensuring that the product is processed within the Customer's specified time for the warehouse. The Line Loader and Unloader is also responsible for coordinating the disposal or re‑use of the packaging that accumulates throughout the loading and unloading process.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities- Adhere to all warehouse safety guidelines, Job Safety Analysis (JSA), and Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), preventing incidents or injury to self or others
- Read work orders or receive oral instructions to determine work assignments and material and equipment needs
- Move freight, stock, and other materials to and from staging and processing areas using a forklift and/or pallet jack in the warehouse
- Loads materials on and off inspection lines while periodically using a hoist
- Determine the placement of material based on labels or other markings
- Other duties as assigned
Work is performed mostly in an uncontrolled warehouse atmosphere with exposure to conditions such as dust, fumes, noise, and varying temperatures. This employee must demonstrate continued knowledge of Haz/Com regulations and requirements. All employees must follow safety standards and wear all personal protective equipment in designated areas.
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential function of this job. While performing the duties of this position, the employee is regularly required to walk, stand, use hands and fingers, grip, handle or feel; reach with hands and arms; stoop, kneel, crouch and talk and hear. Standing 90%, walking/sitting 10%.
Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs. regularly is required.
- High School diploma or GED is required.
- Competent oral and written communication skills
- Competent addition and subtraction math skills
- Competent literacy skills in order to read tags without transposing part numbers
- Powered Industrial Truck Certified – Preferred
