Job SummaryFabricate and/or repair precision carbide and steel tooling (dies, jigs, fixtures, gauges, etc.) for the manufacture of aircraft quality fasteners, utilizing automatic and manual machines, and/or cutting apparatuses, and precision measuring devices.
MainDuties & Responsibilities
Fabricate and/or repair precision carbide and steel tooling (dies, jigs, fixtures, gauges, etc.) for the manufacture of aircraft quality fasteners, utilizing automatic and manual machines, and/or cutting apparatuses, and precision measuring devices.
Essential Duties, Responsibilities And Competencies- Studies specifications such as blueprints, sketches, models, or descriptions to determine materials and machines required to fabricate part.
- Computes dimensions, plans layout, and determines assembly method and sequence of operations.
- Measures, makes, and scribes metal stock for machining.
- Sets up and operates equipment such as lathe, milling machine, and grinder to machine parts, and verifies conformance of machined parts to specifications.
- Examines standard to previously used dies, tools, jigs and fixtures, and recommends design modification regarding construction and function of part.
- Meets and maintains productivity levels and quality requirements in support of departmental standards, goals and schedules.
- Performs record keeping, housekeeping, and follows safety regulations.

COMPETENCIES:
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
Mathematical SkillsAbility to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent. Ability to apply basic concepts of algebra and geometry.
Reasoning AbilityAbility to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
Education And/or ExperienceHigh school diploma or general education degree (GED). A minimum of 1-2 years’ experience in fabricating aircraft quality fastener tooling; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Physical DemandsWhile performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel and talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to stand and sit. The employee is occasionally required to walk. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 10 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
CompensationIn compliance with all states and cities requiring transparency of pay, the expected pay range for this position is $19.00 - $29.86.
Compensation can vary depending on several factors, including a candidate's qualifications, skills, experience, competencies, and geographic location. Some roles may qualify for extra incentives like equity, commissions, or other variable performance-related bonuses.
