Job Overview
This role involves operating and maintaining the Water Treatment Plant facility in Defiance, Missouri, including wells, pumps, motors, and associated equipment, under the direction of a Project Manager.
ScheduleThe shift runs 5:00 pm – 5:00 am on a rotating schedule that includes days and weekends. There is no on‑call rotation, but the employee must respond to emergencies.
Responsibilities- Monitor plant operations to ensure adherence to all state and federal regulations.
- Collect and analyze water samples per Standard Methods procedures.
- Perform minor repair and maintenance on plant equipment.
- Respond to emergency situations as required or per the emergency operations plan.
- Maintain and keep current state operator’s license.
- Maintain stock of chemicals used.
- Execute all work in compliance with established safety standards.
- Use respirator or PAPR when necessary.
- Missouri water treatment plant operator’s license preferred.
- Valid Missouri motor vehicle operator’s license.
- Working knowledge of principles, procedures, methods, equipment, materials, and tools used in operating and maintaining a water treatment plant.
- Thorough knowledge of hazards and safety precautions involved in water treatment work.
- Knowledge of computer applications.
- Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing.
- Completed background check, pre‑placement physical and drug screen.
