Class II AHU Fabricator – 2nd Shift
Location:
Albany, MO. Shift: 2nd Shift | Full-Time. Pay: $21.50 per hour + $1.00 shift premium.
At Johnson Controls Inc. (Albany Plant), we build custom high‑quality commercial air‑handling units (AHU) from sheet metal.
Responsibilities- Ensure hardware and components match Bill of Materials (BOM)
- Install components securely and ensure proper fit and alignment according to the Spec Sheet
- Prepare product to be painted and shipped
- Install hardware and custom parts into assembly per specification for HVAC Units
- Identify proper parts to complete assemblies by reading specification sheets and blueprints
- Utilize rivet gun, air gun, knife, welding and other hand tools to perform duties
- Operate bridge crane or hoist shipments from shipping and receiving platform to storage or work area
- Perform preventative maintenance and make minor machine repairs as needed
- Adhere to a production schedule, ensuring all parts are properly fitted, aligned, and secured while meeting safety standards
- Operate a fork truck (preferred)
- Participate in all high‑performance team activities (HPT)
- Ability to read, interpret, and follow blueprints and build plans
- Previous experience in an industrial setting (preferred)
- High school diploma or GED (preferred)
- Read and comprehend English, including instructions, memos, and manuals
- Write simple correspondence
- Effectively present information in one‑on‑one and small group situations
- Add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, including whole numbers, fractions, and decimals
- Compute rates, percentages, and interpret bar graphs
- Apply common sense to carry out written, oral, or diagram instructions
- Deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations
- Basic computer skills required
- Operating a fork truck (preferred)
- Regular exposure to moving mechanical parts, fumes, airborne particles, and vibration
- Noise level usually loud
- Use hands to finger, handle, or feel and reach with hands and arms
- Frequently stand and walk; occasionally climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; talk or hear
- Regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds; occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds
