Salary range: $18.00 – $19.00 per hour

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Shovel or pour abrasives (e.g., sand, grit, or shot) of specified grade into machine hopper
• Load parts into cabinets
• Turn valves on equipment to regulate pressure and composition of abrasive mixture flowing through nozzle or into tumbling barrel
• Start equipment that directs blast or flow of abrasive‑laden compressed air, gas, or liquid over surface of parts
• Direct nozzle over surface of large parts or insert arms through glove‑fitted cabinet openings and manipulate small parts under nozzle for specified interval
• Examine finished parts to ensure conformance to specifications
• Check sandblast cabinets after each break and at end of shift, and check blast nozzle for wear
• Check appearance of the aluminum oxide blast media, dispose of media that appears “powdery”, and replenish cabinet with new blast media

Minimum Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities)

• 0–3 years of relevant experience
• High school diploma preferred but not required
• Basic English comprehension and ability to follow instructions
• Basic math skills
• Basic computer skills

Physical Demands and Work Environment

• Stand for entire shift
• Repetitive continuous use of hands to finger, handle, or feel parts
• Reach with both hands and arms
• Frequently walk, lift, and/or move up to 35 pounds
• Close vision and depth perception required
• Work in a typically loud environment
• Use of Goff Machine and Tumble Machine as needed
• Exposure to moving mechanical parts, fumes, or airborne particles
• Prescribed safety equipment must be worn at all times

- Day Shift Opening - Hours are from 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM, Monday through Friday. Overtime work required depending on department demands. Must be able to work nights, weekends, or rotate shifts.
