Scene Shop Manager – Scenic Fabrication & Installations
Compensation: $125,000 – $135,000 base + bonus
Employment Type: Full-Time
Theater Outsource is partnering with a leading entertainment manufacturing company specializing in scenic and drapery solutions to bring on a Production Services Manager
. This is a leadership role for someone who understands how to take scenic and drapery‑based projects from concept through fabrication and all the way to installation
. You will oversee project management, fabrication, and installation teams while driving consistency, quality, and execution across multiple locations.
- Lead daily operations across project management, fabrication, and installation teams
- Oversee full project lifecycle from design coordination through fabrication and onsite execution
- Manage and mentor project managers, ensuring accurate bids, schedules, and delivery
- Develop and standardize processes, workflows, and best practices across teams
- Coordinate with internal departments and external vendors to execute projects successfully
- Build and manage a network of fabricators, installers, and suppliers nationwide
- Oversee material sourcing, inventory, and bill of materials (BOM) development
- Maintain product data, pricing, and documentation within ERP systems
- Support fabrication and installation teams to ensure quality, efficiency, and readiness
- Identify and implement process improvements and operational efficiencies
- 8+ years of experience in scenic fabrication, project management, or production environments
- Strong knowledge of scenic fabrication, stage drapery, soft goods, or related systems
- Experience managing complex projects with multiple stakeholders and vendors
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and fabrication plans
- Proven leadership experience managing teams across multiple functions
- Experience working in fast‑paced production or live event environments
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and ERP systems
- Willingness to travel across North America as needed
- Valid driver’s license and passport
- Experience with theatrical rigging systems or stage drapery installations
