What You Can Expect

As a Lead Avionics Install Technician, you will lead a team of technicians to produce timely, high‑quality results. You will coordinate project flow, supervise team members, and manage work order processing, FAA documentation, and customer communication.

Key Responsibilities
  • Plan and coordinate installation projects, including parts and outside services requests.
  • Troubleshoot and evaluate aircraft systems before and after modification.
  • Inspect and evaluate aircraft and components when required.
  • Verify aircraft movement and system performance.
  • Maintain and repair shop facilities, equipment, and tooling to support operations.
  • Work independently on projects and lead multiple projects as assigned.
  • Process work orders for return‑to‑service, pricing customers, and timely billing.
  • Supervise team members in daily work and project management for completion of projects.
  • Coordinate the interdepartmental schedule and act as production support for the manager.
  • Provide ground test and flight test support as needed.
  • Lead the team to complete tasks without on‑site support from other crews or managers during the majority of the shift.
  • Implement a strong turnover of work to day shift.
  • Look for opportunities to reduce aircraft turnaround time.
  • Grow the shift into the future.
  • Train and mentor employees.
  • Communicate effectively in English (spoken, written, reading).
  • Perform other job‑related duties as assigned by supervisor or management.
Education & Experience
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Electrical tech school.
  • Aircraft‑specific factory training preferred.
  • A valid driver’s license suitable for airline travel and/or a valid passport is ideal, but not mandatory.
  • 8+ years of experience in aircraft avionics system installation, troubleshooting, and maintenance.
  • 2+ years of corporate aircraft experience.
  • Advanced knowledge of Corridor systems preferred.

  • Self‑motivated team player.
  • Ability to work in a fast‑paced environment with specific deadlines and time constraints.
  • Reliability and punctuality; must attend work every day as scheduled, including overtime and weekend assignments.
  • Ability to follow FAA guidelines, company safety rules, and customer‑oriented work habits.
  • Team management skills and strong communication abilities.
Physical, Mental, & Working Conditions
  • Lift at least 50 lbs.
  • Routine walking, bending, squatting, or sitting; repetitive motion with arms and hands.
  • Basic personal computer operations.
  • Work primarily in a hangar environment, including hot or cold temperatures; occasional work outside during aircraft runs.
Equipment
  • Personal hand tools supplied by the mechanic.
  • Pneumatic, hydraulic, and electrical equipment.
  • Jacks, stands, lifts, and other support devices.
  • Tugs, power carts, and other engine‑powered equipment.
  • Personal computer and work order prints.
